It was so exciting – they’re promoting their new movie, ‘Jay Kelly,’ and honestly, George just looks perfect, as always. I’m already counting down the days until the film comes out!
The actor, 64, who plays movie star Jay Kelly in the upcoming Netflix film opposite Adam, 59.
George wore his two-piece suit with a black shirt, scarf, and orange-tinted sunglasses for the day.
Adam chose a relaxed outfit, wearing a big green puffer coat over a blue shirt.
He completed his look with a pair of loose-fitting brown trousers and some black leather shoes.
Jay Kelly sees George taking on the role of a movie star who ‘always plays himself’.
The first trailer shows the actor reflecting on his decisions, even though he’s surrounded by admirers and people catering to his needs.
While attending an Italian film festival celebrating his work—with his manager Adam in tow—he was first praised as a cinematic icon, then sharply questioned about consistently portraying himself in his roles.
To which he snaps back: ‘You know how difficult it is to be yourself? You try it.’
Throughout their fast-paced European adventure, George repeatedly tells himself he’s ‘Jay Kelly,’ suggesting he’s become disillusioned with the excitement of the entertainment industry.
Greta Gerwig’s husband, Noah Baumbach, directed the movie and co-wrote the screenplay with British actress Emily Mortimer.
The movie follows two longtime friends as they reconnect for a wild weekend getaway. Through a series of funny and touching experiences, they’re reminded of their younger selves and ultimately learn to embrace adulthood.
George has enjoyed a successful 40-year career, highlighted by an Academy Award win for his performance in Syriana and many other awards.
In a recent interview with Variety, George Clooney responded sharply to questions about whether he’s limited in the roles he plays. When asked if people think he always portrays the same character, Clooney reportedly said, with frustration, that he doesn’t care what people think.
Referencing a line from his new role, Jay Kelly said, ‘It’s surprisingly difficult to just be yourself.’
The actor explained that while he’s had a good career, it hasn’t exploded in many different ways, and he actually sees that as a positive thing.

The movie Jay Kelly will first be shown in some cinemas on November 14th, and then it will be available to stream on Netflix starting December 5th.
