With Counter-Strike 2, you can predict the outcomes of each Major tournament stage and earn Souvenir packages as prizes. You can find details on how the Pick’Em challenge works here.
Every Counter-Strike 2 Major includes the Pick’Em challenge, letting players predict match outcomes for a chance to win special Souvenir skins. This also directly helps fund and support the Counter-Strike 2 esports scene.
The StarLadder Budapest Major offers a familiar experience for fans. You can support the event by buying a Viewer Pass, making predictions with Pick’Ems, leveling up your event coin, and then collecting Souvenir packages. Here’s a closer look at each step to help you understand everything involved.
Viewer Pass at the Budapest Major
To participate in the Budapest Major Pick’Em challenges, you need to purchase the Viewer Pass within Counter-Strike 2. There are two different pass options available.
- Standard Pass: You get the basic event coin and unlock the Pick’Em predictions.
- Premium Pass: Everything from the standard one, plus three Souvenir Tokens.

Which Viewer Pass to buy for the Budapest Major, Standard or Premium?
Honestly, for most of us, the Standard Pass is the way to go. You sign up for the challenge, start predicting outcomes, and after you finish four missions, you get those cool Souvenir Tokens! It’s a pretty good deal, in my opinion.
Purchasing the Premium Viewer Pass for the CS2 Budapest Major gives you three bonus Tokens and lets you unlock Souvenir packages no matter what your predictions are. It’s also a great option if you enjoy the excitement of opening cases.
- Both Viewer Passes are not about financial revenue. Getting an expensive drop from a Souvenir Package is a big luck, even if you have all the possible Budapest Major Tokens. The Viewer Pass and Pick’Ems are more about being part of the community activities and supporting esports. Therefore, the Standard Pass is generally a better choice.

Three upgrades for the Budapest Major event coin
Once you get your Viewer Pass, you’ll start with the basic event coin, which is bronze. You can upgrade it three times, and each upgrade will reward you with a Souvenir Token.
- Complete four missions of the Budapest Major Pick’Em challenge: placing predictions for tournament stages and making correct guesses.
- Obtain a Souvenir Token for each coin upgrade: to silver, gold, and diamond versions.
- Claim a Souvenir package for one Token.
The event coin is mostly just a keepsake, even when fully upgraded – you can’t trade it with others. Getting tokens and souvenir packages from upgrading coins is what really matters.
Making correct Pick’Ems during StarLadder Budapest Major
Just like any CS2 esports betting, there’s no way to guarantee wins with Pick’Ems. Unexpected results happen often in competitive Counter-Strike, and any team at the Budapest Major could pull off a surprise. Even experts don’t get all their predictions right. It’s best to think of Pick’Ems as a fun way to add excitement while watching the tournament.
- Open the Pick’Ems section in the game.
- Place predictions before each tournament stage starts.
- Hope there will be no such surprises as Vitality losing to Legacy in their Round 1 at the Austin Major or Falcons getting eliminated in Stage 2 at the same event.

The best Souvenir packages to buy for your Budapest Major Tokens
CS2 features seven souvenir packages from the Budapest Major, one for each map currently used in professional play. While these packages contain some desirable skins, you’re much more likely to receive common, less valuable items than rarer, more expensive ones like Covert or Classified skins.
- Overpass gives you the unique opportunity to add the first Souvenir skins to the market. Their price should be pretty high initially, due to the very limited offer: the map joined the competitive pool this season. Therefore, Overpass is arguably the best Souvenir package to buy for Budapest Major Tokens.
- Ancient and Dust II Souvenir Packages have valuable drops even in the Restricted rarity, such as USP-S | Ancient Visions in Ancient and M4A4 | Red DDPAT in Dust II. You still need to get low Float Values to make this drop pay for your Viewer Pass.
- Train is generally a good choice. The Classified skins here are pretty expensive, such as M4A4 | Hellish. Restricted drops are also a nice outcome.
- Mirage is about high risk and high reward. Only Covert and Classified skins are worth it: for example, Desert Eagle | Fennec Fox. Surprisingly, the Restricted Souvenirs are cheaper than the normal versions — perhaps due to the map’s competitive popularity.
- Inferno and Nuke can’t bring extreme revenue, but some drops are pretty solid, like the Restricted skin MP7 | Fade in the Budapest 2025 Inferno Souvenir Package.

Stickers of the Budapest Major 2025 CS2 teams
You can purchase Budapest Major stickers within the Pick’Ems area. These stickers come in two types for each stage of the tournament: team stickers and player autographs.
How well teams perform and any standout players can really increase the value of your Souvenir skin stickers. When choosing stickers, it’s also a good idea to pick ones that look good together.

You can participate in the Pick’Ems challenge during the whole Budapest Major, but be sure to make your predictions before the deadline.
