Diet Coke ‘addict’ reveals the jaw-dropping amount she spends on soft drink in a month – as she goes through 1,000 bottles a year

A woman from Melbourne has shared how much she spends each month on Diet Coke, admitting she’s ‘addicted’ to the drink.

Sarah Lloyd shared with the Daily Mail that she’s replaced her coffee habit with a daily intake of two to three bottles of soda for several years.

The 25-year-old adult content creator, now living on Australia’s Gold Coast, says she spends $3,000 each month on drinks.

She drinks about three Diet Cokes daily, starting with her first one at 6:00 AM. This adds up to over 1,000 bottles a year, costing her approximately $3,000 each month.

I got into caffeine when I was deep into my career as a scientist. The hours were brutal – I’m talking 4:30 AM wake-up calls and working until 8 PM most nights. I just needed something to get me through!

‘I just really don’t like coffee – it gives me too much caffeine, to be honest.’

Sarah admits her friends and family are bothered by her high Diet Coke intake, but she feels it’s comparable to their coffee habits.

You know, everyone always comments on my Diet Coke habit – my family and friends really don’t get it! It’s funny because almost all of them are coffee drinkers themselves. Honestly, it’s something I don’t even bring up with my doctor. It just feels like a little indulgence I keep to myself.

I recently spent six weeks without Diet Coke and it really made me feel down. I just missed having that sweet, bubbly flavor.

‘My sleep is better when I don’t have it. It just makes my sleep worse because of the caffeine.’

I’ve been following Sarah’s story, and it’s become clear she’s dealing with more than one compulsion. Beyond what’s already been revealed, she also admits to eating an unbelievable amount of fruit daily – it’s really quite a lot!

She says she honestly doesn’t even know how much she spends on fruit each week, it’s such a large amount.

I ate a lot of fruit today – two containers of blueberries, a container of raspberries, about a quarter of a watermelon, plus some melon, grapes, and a mango. That’s all I had to eat for the day.

‘[My family] also find the fruit crazy, as I guess anyone would. Even I do.’

She explains that she’ll sometimes have a large plate of fruit, and then be surprised by how much she’s managed to eat, thinking, ‘Wow, that’s a lot!’

Sarah believes her excess spending on groceries sits at around an annual lump sum of $36,500.

This model has gained a large following of 95,600 on Instagram and is also featured on OFTV, where she posts videos about motorsports and her fitness routine.

Recently, she surprised many people by sharing that she’s a published scientist who earned a bachelor’s degree in anatomy and biochemistry.

She no longer works in that field. Now, she earns approximately US$100,000 to US$150,000 (AU$153,996 to AU$230,994) each month by selling adult videos online.
