Soline: Frost Ticket Analysis – Should You Pull?

All aboard!

Overview

  • B1 Water SG 40s CD Supporter Unit that provides cooldown.
  • Her primary function is to help out allies in a pinch.
  • Lack of DPS buffs makes it hard to justify using her as a primary cooldown unit in PvE content.
  • A more proper CD unit for Tove to partner up with over D: Killer Wife (DKW).
  • Some potential in PvP thanks to her tickets delaying death for allies, especially within the first 6 seconds of combat.
    • Its value is not immediate for general PvP play, as 15% HP is too low a threshold and the subsequent heal is also low at 12% caster HP. Perhaps if more methods of indomitability appeared.

Should You Pull?

If you need another unit to help with cooldowns, or want to quickly improve your solo raid performance, then yes, consider using her. Otherwise, she’s not really necessary. Her main strength in PvE is providing cooldown reduction, and that’s about it. While her abilities could be useful in campaign levels or PvP to prevent damage from repeated attacks, the actual benefits are too small to reliably save you from being defeated.

This character doesn’t directly boost damage output and has a relatively long cooldown of 40 seconds, which restricts when she can be used in a team. Both her healing and unique ability rely on dealing burst damage. Her design seems more focused on player-versus-player combat than regular gameplay, but even in PvP, her effectiveness is limited – she doesn’t provide enough support compared to similar abilities on Defender units, like Biscuit’s ‘Tug of War’ skill.

Although Soline deals more damage per second than DKW when used with Tove, and noticeably improves performance against Water and Fire enemies, she still doesn’t have the ideal stats to maximize damage output. Because of this, most players won’t feel it’s worth trying to obtain her just to slightly increase raid damage for certain enemy types.

Her biggest drawback is that she’s released before the limited-time Winter units. While she’ll be available permanently, the Winter units won’t be. She’s worth adding to your wishlist eventually, but she’s not a high priority, even for dedicated players. In PvE game modes, she works best with Tove and should mainly be used for challenging raid battles.

Newbie/Incomplete Box Section

Soline, also known as Frost Ticket (SolineFT), is a Water Support unit in the game. She’s a 40-second unit who boosts max HP, heals allies, and reduces cooldown times – that’s her main function. Her Skill 1 allows allies to receive a burst of healing when they’re close to being defeated, and this works with her Skill 2. Her Burst skill provides a significant heal and is the only way she can give out extra healing boosts (called ‘tickets’ or S1 stacks) without assistance from other units.

So cute!!!

Skill 1: I’ll Check Your Ticket!

This skill activates at the beginning of battle or when you use your Burst Skill, issuing 1 to 2 tickets continuously. Each ticket increases the caster’s maximum HP by 10% of their total HP, but doesn’t restore any current HP. When you enter Full Burst, this skill benefits all allies by reducing the cooldown of your Burst Skill by 7.48 seconds and removing the First Train Discount.

When a fight begins, each team member receives a ticket. You can have up to two tickets, and each one boosts your maximum HP by 10% – this increase happens even if you haven’t healed. SolineFT can only give the team more tickets by using her special Burst Skill. We’ll explain what these tickets actually do in the section about Skill 2.

When Soline activates Full Burst, she significantly reduces the cooldowns of all her allies by 7.48 seconds – making her one of the best characters for resetting cooldowns in the game. She also removes the ‘First Train Discount’ buff from allies, but this only affects the very first Full Burst used in a match, as that buff is designed for the initial stages of combat.

These tickets work like standard stacks, meaning you can get them from ally skills that grant stacks to regular allies. Examples include Pepper’s Burst, Alice: Wonderland Bunny’s Skill 1, or Mica: Snow Buddy’s Skill 2. Skills that only give stacks to Iron Nikkes, like Rupee’s Skill 1, won’t work.

Both Alice with Wonderland Bunny and Soline with Frost Ticket ended up with two tickets, even though Soline didn’t pop her bubble.

Skill 2: I’ll Help You Board the Train!

This ability triggers when any squad member’s health drops below 15%. If the target has tickets, it restores 12.27% of the caster’s maximum health. It also reduces the target’s ticket count by 1. Additionally, at the start of battle, it applies a 6-second discount for all allies, and the ‘I’ll Help You Board the Train!’ skill will no longer consume tickets during this time.

When an ally’s health drops to a critical level, they’ll automatically use a ticket earned earlier, restoring 12.27% of Soline’s maximum health and then activating its effect.

If this occurs within the first 6 seconds of a fight, the item won’t be used up. This means you can use it multiple times during that initial period. However, once Burst Time begins – due to the final part of ability S1 – or the 6 seconds are up, this repeated use stops.

Soline could be valuable in player-versus-player (PvP) battles because those are the kinds of fights where characters often take heavy damage. While it doesn’t completely prevent a character from being defeated in one hit like some other abilities, its ability to benefit the entire team, not just those defending, and to work continuously without a time limit, could make it very frustrating to play against.

Honestly, I think that 15% max HP trigger is way too low. If an attack does enough damage to go over that 15%, the whole system just fails and the unit gets knocked out instantly. Plus, the heal you get afterward isn’t great – it’s only around 12% of the healer’s total HP. It could be really strong if combined with Indomitability, but right now there’s no way to apply that buff to the whole team before a fight starts.

I’ll Help You Board the Train (SolineFT S2) vs. Tug of War (Biscuit S2)

I’ll Help You Board the Train is a healing ability. It restores 12.27% of the user’s maximum health to an ally when their health falls to 15% or below. There are no class or activation restrictions, except it can only be used within the first 6 seconds of a battle. It doesn’t provide any additional protection beyond healing.

Tug of War is a Defender-exclusive ability usable twice per battle. When activated (at 50% or more health), it provides 5 seconds of invulnerability and heals the caster for 23.26% of their maximum health.

Although SolineFT’s S2 and Biscuit’s S2 seem similar, Biscuit’s is simply better. Its higher HP makes it tougher to defeat with standard attacks, and it heals for a larger amount. While the limitations of being a Defender and the two-turn cooldown might seem like drawbacks, Biscuit’s invulnerability can be used strategically, especially since many popular PvP Defender units already have a taunt ability.

Although PvP fights are often quick, giving Soline’s skill S2 a chance to be used multiple times, it’s often not enough. The amount of protection and healing it provides is too small to consistently keep players safe unless combined with other defenses. The skill relies on being used repeatedly, but this isn’t as effective as complete invulnerability.

Burst: I’ll Get You There Safely!

Cooldown: 40.0S

Affects all allies.
Recovers 32.26% of caster’s final max HP as HP.

Soline’s primary ability quickly restores a large amount of health to all teammates, scaling with her maximum health. It also grants them a beneficial stack. While simple, this ability is crucial for Soline, as it’s how she provides key benefits to her team. However, for other players, briefly pausing damage dealing (DPS) to use it in PvE content might not be worth the health boost.

This character’s powerful team heal is especially useful in player-versus-player combat (PvP), where fights are quick. A well-timed heal can often be the deciding factor in winning or losing.

Campaign

Soline offers significant cooldown reduction, but her limited supportive abilities and long skill cooldown (40 seconds) mean she’s best suited for very specific situations in Campaign mode. She can help keep allies alive, even when they’re low on health, but this benefit is limited by health thresholds and comes at a cost.

Generally, relying on Soline as your main damage dealer isn’t ideal. Her long cooldown of 40 seconds makes team building difficult, as you’ll likely need to pair her with a buffer who provides a bonus action (B1). Many popular buffers already offer cooldown reduction, which makes using them with Soline redundant. If your primary buffer doesn’t have cooldown reduction – like Red Hood or Miranda – then using Soline for cooldown support could be worthwhile, but that’s a pretty specific situation.

Arena

As a player, I’m really excited about how useful she could be! Even though she’s a standard Support Gunner with a typical burst generation, her kit actually looks really strong in PvP. That burst heal she gets when bursting, combined with her ability to prevent enemies from finishing someone off right at the start of a fight thanks to her passives, seems like a great combination. It could really turn the tide in battle!

Currently, the safety net and healing effects aren’t strong enough to prevent significant damage. Even if it weren’t limited like Season 2, its overall lack of defense makes it difficult to fully benefit from the effect.

S2 has the potential to be a powerful PvP skill, but its weak activation requirements and healing output currently hold it back. A future unit might make S2 much more effective. It’s worth watching for that possibility, but right now, it isn’t dependable enough to consistently protect players in challenging situations.

Special Interception | Union Raid | Solo Raid

Soline has a useful cooldown ability, particularly for challenging boss fights and solo raids. However, she isn’t a top-priority support character because she doesn’t offer any abilities to directly increase her allies’ damage. If you already have Tove, though, Soline can be a dependable partner for coordinating cooldowns with her.

Even though SolineFT doesn’t directly boost her teammates’ damage, she can deal significant damage when Tove buffs her, making her a better choice than DKW if Tove is the team’s primary support. Tove provides substantial benefits to all units, including SolineFT, even without any damage-boosting gear. This will become even more effective once SolineFT acquires damage-boosting gear of her own.

SolineFT vs DKW with Tove

Even though Soline doesn’t directly boost her teammates’ damage, she deals more damage herself when Tove buffs her, leading to a higher total team damage output. While everyone’s individual damage may decrease a little, the small Attack Damage buff from DKW’s skill 2 isn’t significant enough to offset the gains from Soline, even if Soline has minimal investment (level 10/1/1) compared to DKW (level 8/10/9).

Damage against Iron-weak boss in Shooting Range (Element Neutral)

Both characters have the same attack stat at their base level, but Soline starts with absolutely no equipment or upgrades and a significantly lower base attack. She also lacks any built-in ways to boost her damage output. In contrast, DKW’s Skill 1 provides extra damage and consistently hits the enemy’s weak point like a sniper rifle, even right after being obtained and with just that skill leveled up. If Soline were to receive equipment, the difference in performance would only become more pronounced.

Strengths

  • Huge, unconditional cooldown.
  • Can save allies from death, especially at the start of combat.
  • A more proper CD unit for Tove to partner up with over DKW, when bSoda isn’t needed, due to her higher personal damage.
  • Adorable!!

Weaknesses

  • No DPS buffs, making it difficult to justify using her if you don’t need her healing.
  • 40s CD necessitates pairing her up with another B1 unit. Since most of the great ones also provide cooldown, she doesn’t have a place in standard teams if these units are already present.
  • Has standard burst gen, which is a detriment in PvP content.
  • HP threshold and heal provided by S2 is just too low, reducing its value in actually protecting allies.

Recommended Cubes

healing cube,vigor cube

Soline’s healing abilities benefit more from the Healing Cube than the Vigor Cube, making the Healing Cube the better choice for her primary cube.

When raiding with Tove, especially against enemies weak to Water, she should equip the highest-level cube available to deal the most damage.

Doll Priority

SolineFT ranks this Doll as low priority because it doesn’t gain many useful benefits from improving stats beyond its health points.

S1 > S2Skill 1 is where her cooldown comes from. Should be prioritized ASAP. It’s also where her max HP gain for the team comes from.

Skill 2 is where her healing mechanic comes from when an ally hits critical HP. If planning to use her in PvP, this should be prioritized.

Burst provides a big burst heal. Its value is big, but not worth maxing out if you’re rarely going to use it. PvP should definitely consider leveling it up more.
