Now that the dramatic season finale of Tulsa King has aired in November 2025, everyone is wondering what Dwight Manfredi (Sylvester Stallone) will do after his conflict with Jeremiah Dunmire (Robert Patrick). Luckily, Paramount+ already renewed the show for a fourth season back in September, giving creator Taylor Sheridan and his team time to plan the next steps for Manfredi, with a possible release date in 2026.

No matter what happens after the intense conflict between Manfredi and Dunmire, the show Tulsa King is heading in a new direction and will feature fresh faces. The story will increasingly center on Russell Lee Washington Jr. (Samuel L. Jackson), who will lead the spin-off series NOLA King. Sylvester Stallone & Terence Winter Will Return for ‘Tulsa King’ Season 4

Paramount has announced that Tulsa King will return for a fourth season, with Sylvester Stallone reprising his role as Dwight “The General” Manfredi. Stallone plays Manfredi, a former mafia leader from New York, and the part showcases his acting talents. After spending 25 years in prison, Manfredi moves to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to build a new criminal empire in the Midwest.

Alongside Sylvester Stallone, many familiar faces from the show are likely to return, though the exact cast hasn’t been announced yet. Even more excitingly, Terence Winter, the original writer and executive producer known for hits like The Sopranos and Boardwalk Empire, is coming back to lead the creative direction of Tulsa King Season 4. He’ll be taking over from Season 3’s showrunner, Dave Erickson. While Taylor Sheridan created the series, Winter’s extensive experience with crime dramas is fantastic news for fans of Tulsa King.

Taylor Sheridan’s contract with Paramount runs until 2028, which could allow for one or two more seasons of Tulsa King with him as showrunner. However, with several Yellowstone spin-offs planned, he might shift his focus, and creator Terence Winter could take the lead creatively starting with Season 4. Despite Sheridan potentially leaving Paramount, there’s been discussion about continuing Tulsa King for at least three additional seasons.

What Will ‘Tulsa King’ Season 4 Be About?

A major focus of Tulsa King Season 3 was the heated conflict between Dwight Manfredi and Jeremiah Dunmire, the ruthless head of the Dixie Mafia. Luckily for viewers, the season finale didn’t resolve this rivalry with either character’s death. This suggests that Dunmire and his gang will likely return in Season 4 to continue their fight with Manfredi’s crew for control of Tulsa’s criminal underworld.

Robert Patrick, who previously appeared in The Sopranos, delivers a fantastic performance as Manfredi’s biggest threat, and it makes sense for their conflict to continue next season. The season ended with Dunmire kidnapping Dwight’s sister, Joanne (played by Annabella Sciorra), which sets up a major plotline for Season 4.

In September, Stallone hinted at what’s to come for Dunmire, telling TV Insider:

This season, you’ll see a confrontation with this character, where he’ll finally be forced to address the threat against him. He’ll have to decide whether to try and resolve the conflict or accept that one of them won’t survive. This central conflict unfolds over all ten episodes and will continue into the next season.

In addition to more from Sylvester Stallone, fans can look forward to several new characters in Season 4, which may connect to the upcoming NOLA King spin-off. Although these new characters haven’t been announced yet, major changes are expected in the next season of Tulsa King, particularly after reports that 26 cast and crew members were unexpectedly let go right before filming began.

‘Tulsa King’ Season 4 Will Tie Into the ‘NOLA King’ Spin-off

I’m really excited to see what happens next in Tulsa King! It seems like the conflict between Manfredi and Dunmire is going to get even more intense in Season 4. I’m especially intrigued by Russell Lee Washington Jr.’s character – he’s such a clever and calculating guy, and his history with Manfredi is fascinating. I was thrilled to hear that Paramount is officially making a spin-off series, NOLA King, focusing on him! It’s going to be great to learn more about his story.

In the ninth episode of Tulsa King Season 3, titled “Dead Weight,” Washington carries out a planned attack on a rival in a New Jersey hotel. Shortly after, Ray Renzetti, a member of a competing gang, offers Washington money to kill Dwight Manfredi. Washington eventually agrees, taking the money but then informing Manfredi that he was the target of a hit.

Manfredi tells Washington that he’s aware Renzetti is manipulating them both and intends to kill them. This revelation forces the two former cellmates to team up, a dynamic the show will likely explore in both Season 4 of Tulsa King and the upcoming NOLA King spin-off.

Paramount has ordered a full season of NOLA King, a spin-off series, with filming scheduled to begin in February 2026. While a specific release date isn’t known yet, Season 1 is expected to arrive on Paramount+ in late 2026 or early 2027.
