One of 2025’s best thrillers that “will keep you guessing” lands new UK streaming home

Okay, so 2025 is almost over, and honestly, it’s been a really good year for thrillers! There’s one movie in particular that totally hooked me, and the best part is it just became available to stream in the UK, which is awesome.

Christopher Landon’s new thriller, Drop, featuring Meghann Fahy (from The White Lotus) and Brandon Sklenar (1923), is now available on Sky Cinema and NOW for Cinema subscribers.

Okay, so I just heard about this new movie, and it sounds intense! It’s written by Jillian Jacobs and Chris Roach, and it’s about this therapist named Violet Gates – she’s a mom, and hasn’t been on a date in ages. She finally decides to go out, and things go totally wrong – she ends up as a hostage! Sounds super claustrophobic and stressful, honestly.

As far as bad first dates go, we wouldn’t blame Violet for being forever traumatised over this one.

While waiting for her date, photographer Henry Campbell, Violet begins receiving mysterious messages, called “Digi-Drops,” from someone close by.

Okay, so things were getting seriously creepy with these texts we were receiving, and it was happening while my favorite couple was trying to have a nice, fancy dinner at this amazing restaurant in Chicago. It totally ruined the mood!

Violet quickly understands someone is monitoring her, and trying to get help or run away would be useless. She’s been given a horrifying assignment: to kill one of the restaurant’s customers.

We don’t want to give away the big surprise, so it’s best to go in with no expectations. Just enjoy watching Saoirse-Monica Jackson deliver a powerful performance as Violet struggles to understand what’s happening to her.

I remember when this movie came out in April, Digital Spy actually predicted it would be a surprise success at the box office! They really loved the idea, calling it super engaging and something you just couldn’t resist checking out.

Critics are loving Drop! It’s Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, with 83% of reviewers giving it a positive rating based on 235 reviews.

Some critics really enjoyed the film’s wild and unusual style. The Sunday Independent (Ireland) described Drop as a thrilling and unpredictable “demented tech thriller,” while The New York Times found it “pleasantly silly.”

With the weather getting colder, Drop is a perfect movie to watch at home and get cozy. Just a heads-up: if you’re watching with someone special, you might want to put your phone away!

Drop is streaming on Sky Cinema and NOW.

I’m so excited! The latest issue of Living Legends is out now! You can grab Ariana & Witches at all good newsagents or order it online for only £8.99. I can’t wait to read it!
