Okay, so I’ve been following this closely, and it’s finally starting to become clear why Meghan lost temporary custody of her kids. It’s been driving me crazy trying to figure it out, but details are emerging now! I’m so invested in this, and it seems like we’re finally getting some answers about what happened.
According to a source at Page Six, Jim Edmonds’ ex-wife reportedly gave their seven-year-old son, Hayes, medication that wasn’t prescribed to him on several occasions.
According to the source, King gave Hayes Ritalin – a medication for ADHD – despite the fact that Hayes had never received a diagnosis of the condition.
The Daily Mail contacted representatives for King but hasn’t received a reply. A spokesperson for Edmonds said they would not be making a statement.
Us Weekly was the first to report that Kate Hudson’s ex-husband, Chris Robinson’s, former partner, Brooke King, temporarily lost custody of her three children – eight-year-old daughter Aspen and seven-year-old twin sons, Hart and Hayes – after a report to Child Protective Services (CPS) was made by someone at the children’s school.
According to a recent report, Child Protective Services was notified after King requested a school nurse provide Hayes with doses of medication for ADHD.
According to a Page Six source, when Child Protective Services reached out to 55-year-old Edmonds, he and his wife, Kortnie, were at their Tennessee home. They immediately flew to Missouri to be with his children.
Currently, Edmonds has full custody of the children, but King is permitted to visit them twice a week with supervision, according to a source.
A temporary restraining order has been issued, but details about it and where the children will live will be decided at a court hearing on December 9th.
Kelly Dodd, who used to be on The Real Housewives of Orange County alongside Tamra Judge, suggested in a TikTok video on Thursday that Tamra briefly lost custody of her children.
In the clip, Dodd said she had spoken on the phone with King after the news broke.
She stated that King had been labeled a ‘dangerous mother’ because she supposedly gave Hayes Ritalin. However, Dodd came to her friend’s defense, insisting she was a ‘good mother’.
Shannon Beador shared with her followers that Meghan King Edmonds recently told her she accidentally gave her twin son, Hayes, Ritalin. Edmonds apparently felt this mistake led others to question her parenting.

The dispute over custody between King and Edmonds follows an earlier incident where police were called to the home of King’s ex-husband because she reportedly wouldn’t leave.
The couple married in 2014, but King filed for divorce in 2019. The divorce was completed in 2021.
According to one source, the call to Child Protective Services wasn’t made by Edmonds or his wife, Kortnie, who he married in 2022. Instead, it was reportedly made by someone who works at the children’s school.

I was shocked to read the police report about what happened with Corey King. Apparently, he went to my husband’s ex-wife, Kortnie Edmonds’, home multiple times on May 1st, and she actually had to call the police because his behavior was disruptive. She’s listed as the ‘victim’ in the report, which is really upsetting to hear.
Reality TV star King denies the accusations, stating she went to the house only to deliver clothes for the couple’s daughter.
According to a report from the Daily Mail, Kortnie says King showed up at the house around 5 p.m. and repeatedly rang the doorbell.
Kortnie said she went to the door to pick up Aspen’s dress, which King was meant to have left there.
According to the report, Meghan didn’t give the dress to Kortnie and instead stepped back, requesting to speak with her daughter.
‘Kortnie told Meghan that [her daughter] wasn’t home and she was at a baseball game with Jim’.
Kortnie said King seemed bothered, and then she asked him to leave the dress and shut the door.
I was shocked when she said she heard Meghan yelling for her daughter from inside the house as she walked back to her office. Apparently, she went back to the front door and saw Meghan standing right there, only about five feet from the doorway.
Kortnie reportedly asked King to leave, and it’s claimed that Meghan slowly walked back outside, momentarily blocking the door with her foot to prevent Kortnie from closing it completely. Once Meghan moved her foot, Kortnie was able to close the door.
Initially, Kortnie decided not to file charges, but she later contacted the police and asked to press harassment charges.
Former baseball player Edmonds arrived at the house and informed police he had video of what happened.
According to court documents filed on June 6th, King and Kortnie reached an agreement stating that King must avoid all contact with Kortnie. They are required to maintain a distance of at least 150 feet from each other during any events involving their children, and King is prohibited from mentioning Kortnie on social media.
A source told Us Weekly King agreed to the order to ‘avoid prolonged litigation.’
On August 12 charges were ‘refused’ in the case and it was later reclassified as ‘inactive’.
Per the publication, Kortnie filed a restraining order against King after the incident.
As officers responded to a call at the house, they learned that King was driving away in a Jeep. They spotted the vehicle and stopped her.
According to the report, Meghan spoke with her former husband, Jim Edmonds, that day to coordinate dropping off some clothes. She reached out to Jim’s wife, Kortnie Edmonds, to make the arrangements.
According to a source who spoke with Us Weekly, King was traveling to St. Louis for an event when Edmonds contacted her about delivering Aspen’s communion dress. King agreed and also requested to talk to their daughter when the dress arrived.
According to the source, Kortnie appeared very upset when she saw King and reportedly asked her to return the dress and leave right away.
From what I understand, King said he hadn’t talked to anyone about Aspen, and actually told Kortnie she’d spoken with Jim – who wasn’t even there! Apparently, that’s what caused Kortnie to call the police. It’s all so confusing, but that’s how I’ve pieced it together.
According to a source who spoke with Us Weekly, King refused the request. She explained that she had spoken with Jim—who wasn’t home at the time—about needing to discuss things with their daughter, which ultimately resulted in Kortnie contacting the police.
The source said police ‘deescalated the situation quickly’ and King was not arrested or detained.
The Daily Mail reached out to both Meghan King’s representatives and the Frontenac Police Department for a statement.
A spokesperson for the King told the publication that reports about the incident were inaccurate and clarified that she did not enter the property.
According to reports, Meghan quickly spoke to her daughter from the doorway but didn’t enter the house. The door was then slammed shut, and she left her things on the porch. As she was leaving, she was surprisingly stopped by several police cars and felt she was treated more harshly than necessary.
According to a representative for King Charles, Meghan frequently found herself in a difficult position when interacting with Edmonds, and was more often the one negatively affected, not the other way around.
They also pointed out that Meghan has been the primary caregiver for her children for a while, with the other parent only involved at certain times.
Edmonds and Kortnie’s representative said they would ‘let the facts speak for themselves.’
When they married in 2014, King was Edmonds’ third wife. He previously married LeAnn Horton and has two daughters with her.
King and Edmonds welcomed three children together before splitting in 2019.
In 2022, Edmonds married Kortnie O’Connor, who previously worked as a Playboy Bunny and was once friends with his ex-wife. The couple got engaged only two months after his divorce was completed.
Horton passed away in 2015 after battling colon cancer. By that time, any hard feelings between them were gone, and she even went to his wedding with King.
He married Allison Jayne Raski in 2008 and they had two children: a son named Landon and a daughter named Hutton. They divorced right before he married King in 2014.
King was deeply upset and felt betrayed when she discovered her husband was having an affair with Kortnie, a woman she considered a friend. She also revealed that she, her husband, and Kortnie had previously been involved in a sexual encounter together.
The ex-couple has also argued publicly, stemming from Edmonds’ denial of King’s statement that their son, Hart, has cerebral palsy. Edmonds does admit that Hart has periventricular leukomalacia (PVL), which is a condition causing damage to the white matter in the brain.
In October 2021, King married Cuffe Owens, a lawyer and the nephew of President Joe Biden.
However they split just two months later and the marriage was annulled by July 2022.
