Mark Ruffalo’s near-perfect crime drama packed with “twists and surprises” to return for season 2

HBO has announced a second season of Mark Ruffalo’s popular crime drama, Task. The show’s first season, which premiered earlier this year and consisted of seven episodes, was a success, making the renewal a straightforward decision for the network.

The Marvel actor plays Tom Brandis, an ex-priest who now works as an FBI agent. He’s investigating a series of robberies targeting illegal drug storage locations in a troubled neighborhood. The crimes are being committed by Robbie Prendergrast (Tom Pelphrey), a member of a motorcycle gang.

So, the cast is looking pretty great! Emilia Jones, who I remember from The Running Man, is playing Rob’s niece, Maeve, and Martha Plimpton is going to be Tom’s boss, Kathleen McGinty. I’m excited to see them in action!
