The game takes place far beneath the surface, in a vast network of caverns, mines, and labyrinths where people have built a life. You begin by exploring this underground world with your own objectives, but soon discover something terrible has happened.
Players can dive into a massive world, clear dungeons, try new questlines, and more
Whether it’s misfortune or destiny, it falls to you to rescue Avernum from a looming crisis, as powerful groups seek the riches hidden beneath the surface. I didn’t get to experience the first game when it came out, so I’m really excited to explore this huge world – the interesting characters, smart dungeons, and quests all look fantastic.
This remake is special because it’s been completely rebuilt with better graphics, over 20 new quests, and large, complex dungeons. Despite all these improvements, it still retains the rich story, meaningful choices, and strategic battles that fans adored in the original.
If you’re looking for a game with a branching storyline, lots of different groups to interact with, and the ability to create a team with a huge range of skills – over 100, including abilities, traits, and spells – then this is the one for you. It’s launching on iPad in early December, and we’re hoping it will also be available on iOS and Android soon.
