Robert Pattinson & Zendaya’s The Odyssey Roles Confirmed In First Look

As Christopher Nolan’s epic film, The Odyssey, nears its 2026 release, more details about the characters are being shared. Though Homer’s classic story has been adapted for the screen before, Nolan’s version promises to be a major cinematic event next year.

With Christopher Nolan’s latest film set to be packed with stars, Empire magazine has revealed the roles Robert Pattinson and Zendaya will play in the eagerly awaited 2026 movie. Along with new photos from the film, it’s been confirmed that Pattinson will play Antinous, and Zendaya will portray Athena. The magazine also shared a picture confirming John Leguizamo – who is also in The Odyssey – will play Eumaeus. You can see the images below.

In 2026, fans will see both Robert Pattinson and Zendaya in not one, but three films! Besides The Odyssey, they’re starring in A24’s The Drama, coming out April 3rd, and Dune: Part Three, where Zendaya returns as Chani and Pattinson joins the cast. Meanwhile, Tom Holland and Jon Bernthal – who also appear in The Odyssey – will share the screen together for the first time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

Anne Hathaway and Mia Goth will play Penelope and Melantho, respectively, in the upcoming film. Matt Damon stars as Odysseus, and Tom Holland will play his son, Telemachus. Universal Pictures hasn’t yet announced the roles of many other actors in the movie.

Christopher Nolan wrote the script and assembled a cast including Elliot Page, Lupita Nyong’o, Rafi Gavron, Samantha Morton, Nick E. Tarabay, Bill Irwin, Josh Stewart, Logan Marshall-Green, Iddo Goldberg, and Jovan Adepo. Charlize Theron is expected to play Circe, and other Greek Gods will likely appear in his film, The Odyssey.

Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey is scheduled to open in theaters on July 17, 2026.
