I’m so excited to see that one of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s best, but often overlooked, movies is finally getting some love! It’s been 29 years since Jingle All the Way first came out and got a lot of negative reviews, but it’s a fun Christmas action movie. And honestly, after the year we’ve all had, I’m ready for some holiday cheer! It’s great to see it trending on Hulu alongside other Christmas favorites like A Very Jonas Christmas Movie, Last Holiday, and Joy to the World. It seems like a lot of other Hulu subscribers feel the same way – we’re all clearly in the mood for some festive fun!
You can currently watch Jingle All the Way on Hulu, where it’s the 13th most popular movie this week. Released in 1996, the film stars Arnold Schwarzenegger as Howard Langston, an ordinary dad who makes a big promise to his son. As Christmas nears, Howard vows to find the hottest toy of the season, Turbo Man, leading to a frantic and humorous search for the last one in stock. Here’s what the movie is about:
Howard Langston, a man devoted to his work, is determined to reconnect with his son, Jamie, and wife, Liz. He vows to find the must-have toy of the season, Turbo-Man, for Jamie, even though it’s Christmas Eve and nearly impossible to find. During his frantic search, Howard teams up with Myron, a mail carrier also desperate to get the toy for his child. As time runs out, Howard faces challenges that force him to reconsider what truly matters during Christmas.
Starring Arnold Schwarzenegger alongside Sinbad, the late Phil Hartman, Rita Wilson, Robert Conrad, and Jake Lloyd, this movie is packed with non-stop, over-the-top action. It’s not a film you’ll watch for a deep story or award-winning acting, but simply for pure entertainment. Jingle All the Way is just plain fun.
‘Jingle All the Way’ Didn’t Deserve to Be Such a Flop

Is Jingle All the Way a cinematic masterpiece? Probably not, though some people might disagree! When it came out in 1997, the movie received mostly negative reviews from both audiences and critics. Currently, it has a 20% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on reviews from when it was released and more recent opinions. Viewers were a bit more generous, giving it a 41% rating.
User reviews of Jingle All the Way are quite mixed. Some feel the movie was unfairly criticized when it came out, with many calling it better than people remember and surprisingly entertaining. Others strongly dislike it, describing it as one of the worst Christmas movies ever and complaining about its constant re-airing. However, some viewers acknowledge the film’s flaws – noting it loses its way in the second half – while still enjoying it as a lighthearted holiday watch.
