Uma Thurman channels her assassin alter-ego with a Kill Bill T-shirt as she reunites with Quentin Tarantino after director’s relationship with his ‘muse’ became strained when dangerous car stunt left her injured

Uma Thurman and director Quentin Tarantino came together on Wednesday for the premiere of their latest film.

The 55-year-old actress channeled her famous character from Kill Bill, wearing a Kill Bill T-shirt to the premiere of The Lost Chapter: Yuki’s Revenge at the Vista Theater.

Quentin Tarantino and Uma Thurman have had a difficult working relationship since making Pulp Fiction and the first Kill Bill movie. Things became especially tense after Uma was hurt during a car stunt on one of their film sets.

Despite their professional split, the actress and filmmaker have stayed friends. They’re now collaborating on “The Lost Chapter,” which will be the main story arc for the next season of Fortnite, Chapter 7.

As a longtime fan of the Kill Bill universe, I’m thrilled to share some exciting news! You may remember talk of ‘Yuki’s Revenge,’ a storyline originally written for the films but ultimately left on the cutting room floor. Well, get ready, because dedicated fans like us are finally going to experience that lost chapter – it’s being included in the game’s upcoming release! It’s a real treat for those of us who love diving deep into the backstory and lore.

I loved Uma’s outfit when she was talking about her part in the new Fortnite chapter! She paired a ‘Kill Bill’ tee with a cool black leather jacket and trousers – it was such a great look.

Quentin’s wife, Danielle Pick, accompanied him, wearing a stylish black dress with striking cut-out details.

Uma Thurman and Quentin Tarantino first collaborated on his 1994 film, Pulp Fiction, which launched Thurman’s career. They later worked together again on the Kill Bill movies, released in 2003 and 2004.

In a 2018 interview with The New York Times, Uma Thurman shared that a car accident on set—where she hurt her neck and knee—created difficulties in her relationship with the film’s team.

She explained that Quentin came to her trailer and, like many directors, didn’t react well to being told ‘no.’ He got angry because she had caused delays, but she was frightened by his reaction. He tried to reassure her, saying, “I promise the car is fine, it’s a straight road.”

Okay, so even after everything – the crash, the trauma – Quentin actually helped her get the footage of it all. Can you believe it? It wasn’t about him, though, not really. He wanted to expose what Harvey Weinstein supposedly did – a cover-up, trying to sweep it all under the rug. It was like, he was fighting for her, trying to get justice, and it just… it makes me admire him even more, honestly. He really went to bat for her, even when it was messy and complicated.

Tarantino told Deadline he was devastated by the situation, calling it one of the biggest regrets of both his career and his life, and citing numerous reasons why.

He explained that she was right to be angry with him for the accident, admitting it was his fault. He hadn’t intended for it to happen, and he’d convinced her to ride with him, falsely believing the road was safe.

Uma Thurman’s daughter, Maya Hawke, recently appeared in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time In Hollywood, playing Linda Kasabian, a member of the Manson Family.

Last week, it was revealed that Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill will be shown as a complete, single movie in theaters for the very first time. It will also feature a brand new, previously unseen anime segment.

The movie is a massive four hours and 41 minutes long, with a 15-minute break in the middle, and will come out on December 5th.

In Kill Bill, Uma Thurman plays The Bride, a woman left for dead after a brutal attack during her wedding rehearsal. Her former lover and boss, Bill (played by David Carradine), shoots her and leaves her for dead, also causing her to lose her unborn child.

To get her revenge, she needs to find and defeat the four remaining members of the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad before she can face Bill.

Oh my god, you guys, Quentin has been hinting at Kill Bill Volume Three for years! Apparently, it would be all about The Bride and her daughter, B.B., and get this – he always imagined casting Uma Thurman’s actual daughter, Maya Hawke, as B.B.! Can you even imagine?! It would be the most amazing, full-circle moment ever, and I’ve been desperately hoping he’ll make it a reality. I’m seriously obsessed with the thought!

In a 2021 interview on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, he explained that he sees it as a way to revisit those characters after two decades.

The thought of the Bride and her daughter, B.B., enjoying twenty years of tranquility, only to have it violently disrupted and be forced to go on the run, is really compelling. Plus, the idea of casting Uma Thurman alongside her real-life daughter, Maya, would be incredibly exciting.

Elle Driver is still at large, and even though Sophie Fatale lost her arms, she’s still out there too. They both escaped with Bill’s money. Plus, Gogo had a twin, so there’s a chance her sister could appear.
