Lexie Brant, Miss Universe Australia, made a strong impression on Wednesday while competing in the preliminary round of the 2025 Miss Universe Pageant.
The 21-year-old looked incredible on stage in Thailand, wearing a beautiful ochre dress inspired by the colours of Uluru.
I was absolutely captivated by this dress! It had this incredible, bold detail around the neckline, almost like a statement, and the skirt… wow. It wasn’t just fabric, it moved like dry, cracked earth – so unique and artistic. It really felt like a piece of wearable art.
Lexie completed her outfit with beige peep-toe heels and styled her brown hair up for the occasion. She finished the look with delicate earrings.
Before the competition, Miss Universe Australia shared photos of Lexie wearing a stunning dress on Instagram, calling it a ‘living sculpture’.
The social media post described the design as being inspired by Uluru, calling it a tribute to the Australian outback and the spiritual connection many feel to the land.

I was so impressed with Lexie! She looked absolutely amazing in her swimsuit – a really vibrant, bright yellow two-piece that showed off her figure beautifully.
The high-waisted bottoms showed off Lexie’s long, slender legs, and the coordinating halter top highlighted her fit arms.
Lexie wore her hair loose, completing the look with a pair of chunky silver earrings.
This happened after Lexie powerfully showed support for other women by joining a group of pageant queens who walked out of an event in Bangkok, Thailand.
A surprising and upsetting event happened when Nawat Itsaragrisil, a Vice President at the Miss Universe Organization overseeing Asia and Oceania, publicly scolded Miss Mexico, Fátima Bosch, in front of many other contestants.
Dramatic video of the event shows dozens of beauty queens, including Lexie, walking out of the venue to support a woman who was asked to leave and publicly scolded by the VP for being disrespectful.
Lexie was among the first to rise in solidarity, her face resolute as she joined the exodus.
The 22-year-old from Brisbane, who is studying to become an occupational therapist, was crowned Miss Universe Australia 2025 at a stunning event in Perth last August.
Victoria Theilvig, the first contestant from Denmark to win the competition, made a statement at the Miss Universe pageant in Bangkok by leaving the awards ceremony. She explained her protest was a stand for women’s rights.
She was deeply offended by the disrespectful behavior towards another girl, something she wouldn’t tolerate. ‘Because of this,’ she stated, ‘I’m leaving.’
During a live event broadcast, Itsaragrisil unexpectedly confronted 25-year-old Bosch about not attending a sponsored photoshoot that morning.
In a video posted on the official Miss Universe Thailand Facebook page, Nawat asked Bosch to stand and justify her actions. When she stated she wanted to speak freely, he directed security to remove her from the hotel.
When the beauty queen faced backlash, many of her fellow contestants jumped up, prepared to leave the room in protest.
Nawat could be heard urgently shouting ‘Stop, stop!’ as the models started leaving the ceremony, telling them to ‘Sit down’.
Bosch appeared visibly uncomfortable when she told the president she didn’t want to be scolded in front of everyone. He immediately cut her off, grabbing the microphone and saying, ‘I haven’t finished speaking yet… just listen to me!’
‘I have a voice,’ Bosch replied, accusing Nawat of ‘not respecting me as a woman’.
The president pressed the issue, simply asking: ‘Can you help promote Thailand, yes or no?’
Nawat then instructed security to escort Bosch out of the hotel.
After winning the pageant in Mexico City last year – beating Miss Nigeria in the process – Theilvig was filmed saying she was leaving the event.
‘We have respect for everyone, but this is not how things can be handled,’ she said.
The video spread rapidly on social media, receiving positive feedback from women and attendees alike.
People who follow the competition and past contestants praised the decision to leave as a display of honesty and bravery. Social media personalities called it the most inspiring moment ever seen in Miss Universe.
The Miss Universe Organization, recently acquired by JKN Global Group from Thailand, has been receiving more criticism regarding how open and fair it is, and how it treats the women who compete.
The recent walkout in Bangkok has brought concerns back to the surface, with many arguing it shows a harmful pattern of public humiliation within the organization.
