Glen Powell’s A24 Thriller Retitled How To Make A Killing: Release Date Set

Glen Powell’s upcoming thriller has a new title and an official release date, announced by A24. Following the success of films like Top Gun: Maverick, Anyone But You, and Twisters, Powell has become a major Hollywood star. He’ll be back in theaters early next year with this A24 project.

Glen Powell’s upcoming thriller, originally titled Huntington, will now be released as How to Make a Killing on February 20, 2026, according to The Hollywood Reporter. It will be competing with two other films that day: the horror movie Psycho Killer from 20th Century Studios, and I Can Only Imagine 2 from Lionsgate.

John Patton Ford, known for his 2022 film Emily the Criminal, directs How to Make a Killing. The movie is inspired by the 1949 classic Kind Hearts and Coronets and features Glen Powell as Becket Redfellow, a man cut off from his wealthy family who will stop at nothing to get his share of the fortune.

The film stars Glen Powell and features a talented supporting cast including Margaret Qualley (known for Maid and Fosse/Verdon), Bill Camp (The Night Of, Presumed Innocent), Ed Harris (a four-time Oscar nominee for films like Apollo 13 and The Truman Show), Jessica Henwick (Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery), Zach Woods (The Office, Silicon Valley), Topher Grace (That ’70s Show), and Raff Law.

John Patton Ford’s screenplay made the Black List in 2014, and originally Shia LaBeouf and Mel Gibson were going to star in the movie, with Jon S. Baird directing. Glen Powell recently told The Hollywood Reporter that he’s thrilled the film, How to Make a Killing, is finally coming out in theaters.

We’re excited to share a new film coming out in the next few weeks. It’s a really great movie, and we think everyone will love the work of director John Patton Ford. We can’t wait for audiences to see it!

Besides How to Make a Killing, Glen Powell is also working on Ghostwriter, a new film directed by J.J. Abrams and featuring Jenna Ortega, Emma Mackey, and Samuel L. Jackson. He’s currently in The Running Man (2025), which didn’t perform well during its opening weekend. Interestingly, the trailer for How to Make a Killing is being shown in some theaters alongside showings of The Running Man.
