Fans of Strictly Come Dancing are disappointed to learn that La Voix won’t be performing in the show’s special at Blackpool’s Tower Ballroom this weekend. However, recent rumors about why she’s missing the event are untrue. La Voix, whose real name is Chris Dennis, and her dance partner Aljaž Škorjanec addressed the situation with humor on tonight’s episode of It Takes Two.
She injured herself and will unfortunately be unable to perform this weekend. As a result, she’ll automatically advance to the next round without having to compete.
Dennis explained to host Janette Manrara that some viewers have speculated he left the show simply to avoid performing the Samba.
What to Read Next
I really wanted to perform the Samba in Blackpool! Everything was set for a fantastic show.
Dennis explained that the injury started during ‘Foxtrot’ week when he first noticed a slight pain in his foot. This is why people commented on his flat feet and his distinctive heel and toe turns.

I kept telling myself everything would be okay, but things slowly got worse and worse. By Saturday, it got so bad I had to switch to a different pair of shoes.
I was stuck wearing those… Janette, they were terrible flat shoes! They matched Aljaž’s, and he just said, ‘thanks’ – it was awkward.
Alex Kingston, a well-known actress, will perform a Couples’ Choice dance on the show. Her routine will be set to a mix of two songs: ‘History Repeating’ by Propellerheads featuring Shirley Bassey, and ‘Look at Me’ by Geri Halliwell.

Balvinder Sopal, known from EastEnders, will be performing an Argentine Tango to Supertramp’s ‘The Logical Song’, while Lewis Cope from Emmerdale will dance a Charleston to Arctic Monkeys’ ‘I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor’.
I’m so excited for the show! I heard Karen Carney, the footballer, is going to be doing the Paso Doble – and to ‘O Fortuna’ no less! That’s a powerful choice. Then there’s George Clarke, the content creator, who’s taking on the Salsa with ‘Rock This Party’. It sounds like we’re in for a really fun night!
You can watch Strictly Come Dancing on BBC One on Saturdays, and Strictly: It Takes Two on BBC Two every weeknight. Both shows are also available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
