That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime New Movie Trailer Revealed

Following the 2022 film That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: The Movie – Scarlet Bond, comes the second full-length movie in the series, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Tears of the Azure Sea. This new installment features familiar characters and introduces three new faces: Zodon (voiced by Koichi Domoto), Yura (voiced by Saori Onishi), and Djeese (voiced by Koji Yusa).

Koichi Domoto, the newest star joining the franchise, expressed his excitement about playing Zodon, calling it a unique role unlike anything he’s done before. He also really enjoyed the recording process and felt honored to be part of Slime, a series with a dedicated fanbase. Domoto believes the movie will be enjoyable for both longtime fans and newcomers alike, offering something for everyone.

The anime That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, which began airing in 2018 and is nearing the end of its source material with Volume 22, quickly gained a global fanbase. The story centers around Rimuru, who used to be a man named Satoru Mikami. After being killed in Tokyo, he is reborn as a slime in a fantasy world with the special power to absorb and copy the abilities of others.

Just like the first series, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime has received positive reviews from both critics and fans. Currently, it has a 79% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. The show’s popularity is clear – its main character, Rimuru, won the “Best Protagonist” award at the 2019 Crunchyroll Anime Awards, and the series has been nominated for many other industry awards over the last seven years.
