Despite positive feedback from viewers, the BBC has cancelled the show Cuffs after only one season. A BBC spokesperson stated the cancellation was to make room for new programming, according to The Mirror.

Despite this, the police show has gained a dedicated following, and one IMDb user even called it the “most original and captivating show in years.”

I recently finished watching this show in just a couple of days, and it was fantastic! The action was thrilling, the situations were exciting, and it kept me on the edge of my seat.

The show featured a cast of well-developed characters, each with unique strengths and weaknesses, and the actors delivered fantastic performances. The writing felt incredibly authentic and engaging, and I was left wanting more – it’s a truly great show that deserves more episodes.

Another viewer praised the show’s strong character development and engaging story about the ups and downs of working in a Brighton police department. They also highlighted the quality of the writing and performances, and appreciated the diverse cast and representation of characters rarely seen on television.

“A real shame that the BBC didn’t renew it. Shows of this calibre are hard to come by.”

In a 2015 interview with Digital Spy and other publications, Walters explained that he took the role because it was a significant departure from his work on Top Boy.

It’s refreshing to be working on something completely new. When I was on Top Boy, my days were filled with phone calls – constantly checking on deliveries and money – and all the filming took place in Dalston Market, as I recall.

Because the work constantly takes us to new locations, challenges us with different problems, and evokes a wide range of emotions, it’s a great opportunity to demonstrate our versatility and show everyone why we deserve our roles.

Cuffs will land on Netflix on Friday, 28 November.

The latest issue of Living Legends is now available! You can purchase Ariana & Witches at newsstands or online for only £8.99.
