Zawe Ashton makes her first public appearance after confirming she has welcomed her second child as she joins her fiancé Tom Hiddleston at GQ Men Of The Year

Zawe Ashton was seen in public for the first time since she and Tom Hiddleston privately welcomed their second child.

The 41-year-old actress looked chic in a black, strapless dress featuring eye-catching, puffed sleeves.

The celebrity and Tom, looking sharp in a burgundy velvet suit, were seen together at their first public appearance since welcoming their second child.

The couple, who are incredibly private, already have one child who was born in October 2022. 

Zawe Ashton recently announced the birth of her second child while visiting the Little Village baby bank charity.

People quickly filled the comments section with congratulations after the star announced her new family member.

June Sarpong commented, ‘You look AMAZING! Congratulations, dear!’ and Zawe responded with, ‘Love you, June!’

People shared their congratulations on the new baby, with messages like ‘Congrats on your second child, enjoy this special time!’ and ‘It’s so great to see you – huge congratulations!’

The Daily Mail have contacted Zawe’s representatives for comment.  

Zawe revealed she was expecting her second child in an interview with Vogue back in June. 

In July, she clarified her relationship with Tom, confirming they were married after people wondered if they’d secretly wed when she referred to him as her ‘husband’.

The star admitted her slip-up sent their loved ones into a furious tailspin.

Zawe mentioned that they’ve been engaged for quite a while, and some publications have mistakenly referred to them as married.

I received some really hurtful messages from people I know. They were accusing me of things that weren’t true – things like running off and getting married in secret. I want to be clear: that didn’t happen at all.

During an appearance on the ‘Miss Me?’ podcast with Lily Allen and Miquita Oliver, ‘The Marvels’ actor explained that it’s simply a matter of how things are phrased, noting that they refer to each other as husband and wife.

Eventually, things progressed – we went from having a romantic relationship to starting a family, and we even had another baby on the way.

She explained that the portrayal was upsetting to married couples, who are pointing out that the situation isn’t realistic.

We’ve discussed getting married. We both like the idea of the deep connection it creates, and how it can provide stability and support for us as a couple and if we have a family.

They first connected in 2019 while performing together in the play Betrayal in London. The production later moved to Broadway, and they continued to work together.

They quickly became a couple and first appeared together as a pair on the red carpet at the Tony Awards in September 2021.

News of their engagement surfaced in March 2022 when Zawe was seen with a diamond ring at the BAFTAs. Later that year, the couple privately welcomed their first child.

The actress, who was born in Hackney, shared that although she’s often imagined weddings, the thought of actually getting married brings up complicated feelings.

She admitted that while she’s spent a lot of time dreaming about weddings, she hasn’t thought as much about what marriage is actually like, finding the idea of a lifelong commitment a bit daunting.
