Marketing for the upcoming Pixar movie, Toy Story 5, has begun with the release of a chilling poster featuring the film’s new villain, Lilypad. The sequel will bring back Woody (voiced by Tom Hanks) and Buzz (Tim Allen) along with the rest of the original toys, but their world is threatened when a tablet captures Bonnie’s attention. Jessie (Joan Cusack) will take center stage in Toy Story 5, leading the toys as they face off against the enigmatic Lilypad.
Since details about the new villain, Lilypad, in Toy Story 5 are still scarce, the initial marketing campaign has centered around introducing her. The first teaser trailer for Toy Story 5 revealed the toys’ fear when they discovered Lilypad arriving in a delivery box, and the official poster hinted at the tablet’s plans to cause trouble for them.
Pixar has revealed the first poster for Toy Story 5, introducing Lilypad, the film’s new tech-focused villain. The poster shows a chilling image of the smart tablet, which is shaped like a frog, and suggests it’s targeting Woody, Jesse, and Buzz.

It’s still unclear what Lily Pad wants in Toy Story 5, but the movie’s poster suggests she’s trying to get rid of Bonnie’s toys so Bonnie will play with her instead. The other toys – like Forky, Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head, Rex, and Slinky – are very worried about what this means for their future, and a sneak peek shows they’re clearly frightened by Lily Pad’s presence.
With the trailer and poster reveal, Pixar also announced that Greta Lee, known for her recent role in Tron: Ares, will voice the character Lilypad. According to Pixar, Lilypad’s arrival will significantly complicate things for the toys, as the tablet she brings poses a challenge to their playtime.
Joining the cast is Greta Lee, alongside eight familiar faces returning for Toy Story 5, including Tim Allen, Tom Hanks, Joan Cusack, Tony Hale, Wallace Shawn, John Ratzenberger, and Blake Clark. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on June 19, 2026.
How Much of a Threat Lilypad Really Is in Toy Story 5

The idea that Toy Story 5 will explore a conflict between technology and traditional toys is really interesting. It mirrors what’s happening in real life, with many kids today preferring tablets and phones over physical toys.
This reflects how the younger generation readily accepts technology as a key part of how they play. The next installment of the story could delve into the serious problems that arise when children spend too much time using these devices.
The toys’ frightened reaction to Lilypad in the trailer shows how much they fear her. They worry Bonnie will become so interested in Lilypad that she’ll forget about them, essentially replacing them.
Even though Lilypad presents a significant challenge, Toy Story 5 offers the toys a chance to prove themselves and show how they can adjust to a world where kids are increasingly using technology. Early reviews suggest the movie is another touching story, which raises the possibility of Lilypad and the toys reaching a peaceful understanding, realizing they both want what’s best for Bonnie and need to find a way to work together.
