The new movie, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, brings Spider-Man and the Punisher together on screen for the first time. This team-up has fans hopeful that the long-awaited fight between Spider-Man and the Hulk will actually happen. The movie is also building a really compelling cast, making it one of the most intriguing projects in the Marvel Cinematic Universe right now.
The next Spider-Man movie, starring Tom Holland, is shaping up to be a big event! In addition to Holland’s return for his fourth MCU film, it will feature Jon Bernthal as the Punisher and Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk. Sadie Sink, known from Stranger Things, will also appear in a currently secret role, alongside several confirmed villains. With the Punisher and Hulk both set to appear, and a recent announcement, it seems likely there will be a large-scale battle in the 2026 film.
Spider-Man & The Punisher Are Not Friends In First Brand New Day Look

We haven’t received any news yet about when the trailer for the next Spider-Man movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be released, but the first images of the Punisher and Spider-Man together in ‘Brand New Day’ have been revealed. Photos from the set of ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ show the two heroes meeting, and @themarvelshow_ shared a close-up shot of their encounter on Instagram.

New photos from the set reveal Jon Bernthal’s Punisher aiming a gun at Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. Spider-Man is seen crouching on top of the Punisher’s vehicle, looking at him through the windshield. The Punisher’s van has been spotted in other on-set pictures. This first glimpse of the two characters together hints at a potential fight before they eventually join forces.
How Brand New Day’s First Look At Punisher & Spider-Man Increases The Chances Of The Hulk Fight We Expect

The possibility of a fight between the Punisher and Spider-Man is increasing, similar to other anticipated battles in the Brand New Day storyline. Mark Ruffalo, who plays Bruce Banner, was recently seen on the set of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. He was portraying an injured and disoriented Banner, carried on a stretcher. Reports suggest that the Hulk may revert to his more aggressive form.
Okay, so the latest images have me thinking. We see Banner waking up on a stretcher, clearly disoriented, and it looks like he might have Hulked out without even remembering it. Now, that ties in interestingly with those set photos showing the Punisher and Spider-Man together. If Frank Castle is willing to go toe-to-toe with Spidey – and Spidey’s way stronger than him – it makes sense that he wouldn’t hesitate to challenge the Hulk either. It’s a fascinating possibility that these characters could all collide!
Things would get really interesting if Bruce Banner lost control and the Punisher was the only one who could stop the Hulk. A fight between the Punisher and the Hulk has been highly anticipated for a long time, as they come from very different backgrounds. Jon Bernthal’s portrayal of the Punisher is gritty and realistic, while Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk is a visually stunning, computer-generated giant. This potential conflict could happen in the Spider-Man: Brand New Day storyline.
