Sharon Horgan attends her first public event since it was revealed her ex-husband Jeremy Rainbird’s new girlfriend has tragically died aged 42

Sharon Horgan recently made her first public appearance since the sudden and sad death of Jeremy Rainbird’s girlfriend, who passed away at 42. Rainbird is Horgan’s ex-husband.

Jeremy’s partner, Caroline Towning, passed away in Mexico on Tuesday. The couple, including 52-year-old Jeremy, had been living there at the time.

Following the recent announcement, 55-year-old Sharon attended a Tuesday afternoon event called Women and Power, which honors successful and stylish female leaders.

Designer Edeline Lee, age 45, came back to London to lead the event, where Sharon discussed her experiences and openly shared what it’s really like to choose clothes for both her roles on and off camera.

This event features inspiring women from the worlds of art, media, and politics who will discuss how power, personal identity, and cultural influence shape the fashion industry.

Caroline was a well-known artist who painted horses. She also used to run Blacks, a private club in London’s Soho.

Jeremy posted a heartfelt message online remembering Caroline, affectionately calling her ‘Pony’ – a nickname she earned through her passion for horses.

‘Beautiful Pony, the brightest shining light,’ he wrote. ‘Forever in my heart.’

News broke last Friday in the Daily Mail that Jeremy and Caroline are a couple, though sources say their relationship has been quite rocky.

The couple recently shared loving photos from their trips to Los Angeles, Nevada, and Mykonos on social media.

Next spring will see the launch of Maison Rockman, a fashion label co-directed by its creators and specializing in designs made from black faux leather.

Teenage showjumper Caroline recently shared her personal difficulties online, describing feelings of sadness and saying she preferred expressing herself through art, even if it meant embracing pain, rather than simply being happy.

Jeremy’s fast-moving relationship with actress Sharon became the inspiration for her popular Channel 4 comedy, Catastrophe, which humorously portrays the ups and downs of relationships today.

Jeremy, also known as Jez, became wealthy thanks to TV shows created by Sharon, age 55, including a sitcom that won a Bafta award.

Jeremy led the Merman Group, the company behind popular shows like the BBC hit Motherland, which Sharon also created.

Jeremy and Sharon split up in 2019, and Sharon is now dating Barry Ward, who she worked with on the show Bad Sisters.

Earlier this year, she said she regretted not ending her 14-year marriage sooner.

‘There came a point where it was so clear it wasn’t right for either of us,’ she reflected.

It’s incredibly damaging. You only live once, and wasting so much of that precious time on something that isn’t fulfilling is really tough.

Sharon became pregnant only six months into her relationship with Jeremy, and she used their experiences as the basis for a Channel 4 drama featuring Rob Delaney.

She jokingly told The New Yorker when the show first aired that she’d get a divorce if it weren’t such a difficult process.

Sharon recently discussed her divorce in Red Magazine, explaining that while it was initially frightening to separate from her husband last year, she’s now much happier. She described the experience as a life-changing one.

At first, it was a little frightening, but I quickly realized it was just a matter of adapting and doing things differently.

I used to depend on others for a lot of things, but I’ve mostly taught myself how to do them now. I still have support – running this operation is a huge undertaking – but learning to tackle things I was afraid of has really improved my life.

I’m feeling much more confident and self-reliant, and honestly, I’m happier now than I’ve been in a long time.

Sharon discussed the stigma often associated with divorce, emphasizing that it shouldn’t exist because choosing to divorce can be a significant and positive turning point in someone’s life.

She explained that divorce can actually be a positive turning point. It’s common to feel ashamed when a relationship ends, but she believes that’s unnecessary.

The actress previously explained that she wrote about the events in Catastrophe because they were based on her own life experiences, stating, ‘That is what happened to me, so it made sense to write about it.’
