Mila Kunis and Kerry Washington shone with classic elegance as they headlined the celebrity arrivals at the Los Angeles premiere of the new movie, Wake Up Dead Man, on Monday night.
Mila glowed in a cream satin dress, while Kerry favored a busier brown off-the-shoulder gown.
At the premiere of their new film, Wake Up Dead Man, held at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, actresses Laura Prepon (42, known for That ’70s Show) and Kerry Washington (48, from Scandal) were accompanied by fellow cast members Josh Brolin, Josh O’Connor, and Cailee Spaeny.
I noticed right away that Jeremy Renner wasn’t there, and it’s been all over the news that he’s been dealing with some tough stuff lately. It was definitely a talking point for all of us fans.
The 54-year-old actor, who plays Dr. Nat Sharp in the movie, missed the premiere. This came after filmmaker Yi Zhou publicly accused him of sexual harassment in the Daily Mail, and alleged he threatened to report her to immigration authorities following a disagreement.
Zhou alleges that Renner sent her explicit photos and videos, including a pornographic clip she then shared with the Daily Mail.
After previously working together, the pair were collaborating on a film when Zhou claimed Renner became intoxicated at a meeting held at his home. She stated he then shouted for two hours, and she had to lock herself in the bathroom to feel safe.
She posted a picture of Renner with a glass of wine, showing a partially full bottle nearby, reportedly taken at his house.
Zhou alleged that Renner threatened to have her deported after she challenged him about his aggressive actions.
The filmmaker said that after she privately confronted him about his past behavior and asked him to treat her with respect – both as a woman and as a professional – he threatened to report her to immigration authorities. She described being deeply shocked and frightened by this threat.
Renner later refuted Zhou’s allegations with a legal notice demanding she stop making them. He acknowledged a short, mutually agreed-upon encounter with her, but stated he attempted to end it.
At the Wake Up Dead Man premiere, there was no sign of the recent controversies surrounding the film.
The latest installment in the Knives Out series stars Daniel Craig as detective Benoit Blanc. He’s called in to solve a puzzling death connected to Reverend Jud Duplenticy (played by Josh O’Connor) and the people in his church.
Mila stunned on the red carpet in a cream-colored off-the-shoulder dress with a floor-length skirt.
The dress had no straps and was covered in shimmering silver crescent shapes that appeared like a visible bra underneath. She completed the look with long, dark hair styled in loose, flowing waves cascading over her shoulder.
Kerry stunned in a glamorous, brown satin gown. The dress featured an off-the-shoulder design, a low-cut neckline, lots of beautiful gathering in the front, and a flowing long train.
The dress featured prominent beaded closures around her waist, and she completed the look with coordinating pointed heels.
Cailee Spaeny wore a sophisticated black dress with layers and subtle stripes, embellished with sequins.
Okay, seriously, Josh O’Connor just gets me. He wore another one of those amazing, oversized suits – I’m living for it! This time it was black, a double-breasted one, and the pants were so, so voluminous. It was a whole look, and honestly, I need it in my life.
Josh Brolin attended the premiere with his wife, Kathryn Boyd Brolin. He looked sharp in a brown sport coat featuring a unique shawl collar, paired with a matching olive vest and trousers. He completed the look with a brown satin scarf.
Kathryn wore a delicate, pale beige dress with intricate bead and jewel detailing that caught the eye.
Josh and his costar, Kerry, shared a warm and affectionate moment. He hugged her from behind and kissed her shoulder, and she affectionately rested her head against him.
Janelle Monae, known for her role in Rian Johnson’s previous film, Glass Onion, made a striking appearance in a vintage-inspired outfit. She wore a long, double-breasted coat over a frilly white blouse, paired with black velvet pants and tall black leather boots.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt, a frequent collaborator with Johnson, dressed casually in a black jacket, navy pants, a brown plaid shirt, a patterned tie, and black loafers.
Fred Armisen, known for his time on Saturday Night Live, walked the red carpet with his wife, actress and comedian Riki Lindhome.
He dressed casually in a dark gray work jacket, a loose gray shirt, black jeans, and gray sneakers. She, in contrast, looked striking in a bright red dress and shiny gold heels.
Noah Segan, who’s been in all three Knives Out movies, wore a navy corduroy suit with a patterned beige and blue shirt.
His wife Alison Bennet favored a black dress with colorful patterns.
Noah playfully kissed Rian on the cheek, and the filmmaker pretended to be hurt.
Actress Caylee Cowan, who is dating Casey Affleck, looked stunning in a simple white dress with delicate straps.
Model and actress Alexis Ren brightened up the event in a light green dress. The dress had a ribbed skirt, a low-cut neckline, and stylish cutouts that showed off her fit stomach.
