At age 28, celebrated League of Legends jungler Levi announced he was retiring from pro play.
Vietnamese League of Legends star Đỗ “Levi” Duy Khánh has retired from professional gaming. Levi’s impact on the Pacific League is undeniable, and he’ll be best remembered for his strong leadership during his time with GAM Esports.
The start of Levi’s legacy
Levi discovered League of Legends in 2013 during a time when he was figuring out his future. He credits the game with giving him direction and becoming a central part of his life, something he’s very thankful for. He chose his in-game name, Levi, as a nod to the character from the Attack on Titan manga.
When Levi first joined SkyRed, he played in the mid lane but quickly transitioned to the jungle. He became known for his incredible mechanical skill as a jungler and was considered one of the league’s best, despite his team finishing fifth overall.
I’m looking forward to a happier future, filled with more smiles, and continuing to share it with everyone. This is goodbye to my time as a professional League of Legends player, and hello to the next chapter as a streamer.
Levi
Levi began his professional League of Legends career with GIGABYTE Marines (now GAM Esports) in 2016. In 2017, the team had a very successful spring season, winning both the Mountain Dew Championship Series Spring and the GPL Spring without losing a single game. After a short time with 100 Thieves, he played for JD Gaming from 2018 to 2019. He ultimately returned to GAM Esports after finding it difficult to adapt to the Chinese team environment.

Since rejoining GAM Esports, Levi has won an impressive 10 championships within Vietnam. While he hasn’t yet secured a victory on the international stage, he’s still considered a legendary player in the Pacific region. He’s so skilled that fans often say, “There’s only one Levi.” He’s particularly famous for his incredible plays with champions like Kha’Zix, Lee Sin, Graves, Nocturne, Wukong, and Vi.
In late 2022, Vietnam’s Ministry of Sports, Culture, and Tourism recognized his achievement at the 31st SEA Games by awarding him the title of National Sports Master after he helped the Vietnam National Team win a gold medal. Then, in 2024, the Vietnam Esports Federation (VIRESA) further honored him with the title of National Esports Grandmaster.
Levi steps away from professional LoL
Levi announced his retirement from professional League of Legends in a video on his YouTube channel. He explained that being a pro player demands a lot of personal sacrifice. While he mentioned some health challenges he’s faced, he clarified that they weren’t the primary reason for his decision to step away from competition.
Levi announced this on his 28th birthday, reflecting on how he’s getting to the age where he wants to prioritize personal life. He’s eager to spend more time with his parents and family, and is starting to think about the future – settling down, and potentially starting a family. He feels that continuing to compete professionally would make it difficult to balance both those goals, so he’s making a change.
After a remarkable 12-year career, Levi has retired from professional League of Legends. He’s widely considered one of the best junglers Vietnam has ever produced and will be remembered for his strong leadership.
The future
In his retirement announcement, Levi revealed he’s planning to become a full-time streamer and content creator. He explained he really enjoys streaming and connecting with fans, even while he was a professional player. He loves making people laugh and will continue to play and watch League of Legends. You can find his streams on YouTube.
Levi shared that he’s looking forward to trying out different games, including Teamfight Tactics, and might even compete in some tournaments. He described this as a significant life change, marking the end of his professional League of Legends career and the start of his journey as a streamer. He expressed hope for a happier future and continued connection with his fans, saying it’s time to say goodbye to ‘pro Levi’ and hello to the next chapter.
