This will be the first time players compete in person on a global scale, taking place in January 2026 alongside the M7 Carnival. The tournament will crown the first international Magic Chess: Go Go champion, and the winners will share the stage with the champions of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB).

Mobile Chess Grand Galaxy (MCGG) is set to make its debut in January and will also be a historic addition to the 33rd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) as the first mobile Auto Chess title featured in the event. Adding to the excitement, the game’s current fourth season includes a first-ever collaboration with THE KING OF FIGHTERS (KOF).

MOONTON Games producer Gao “Skyhook” Chong explained that this tournament represents their goal of making esports open and inclusive. It has become a place where players can thrive, communities are formed, and esports continues to grow globally.

MCGG GO1 World Championship and M7 will share the same stage in Indonesia

The game recently launched its first international esports tournament, Rising Stars, in September. With the event quickly approaching, it’s expected to be a major success for the game and will give players a chance to compete globally. The first in-person world championship will begin on January 25th at the M7 Carnival, which starts on January 3rd, 2026.

The MCGG GO1 World Championship will bring together 24 players from various regions including Asia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia, Europe, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), Latin America, and the Philippines. The total prize money up for grabs is $25,000.

MCGG to make historic SEA Games debut, also bringing a major event collaboration

The game will be showcased as a demonstration sport at the 33rd Southeast Asian (SEA) Games. This makes MCGG the first mobile Auto Chess game to ever be included in the SEA Games.

The game brings people and communities together from around the world. It will feature athletes from Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines, with a total of eight participating teams.

Esports fans are thrilled about the upcoming events, and organizers are excited about a new partnership. Season 4 of MCGG launches on November 19th, and it’s kicking off with a collaboration featuring THE KING OF FIGHTERS (KOF). Players can look forward to character-inspired skins, strong team-ups, and fresh chessboard designs, bringing the excitement of classic arcade fighting games to a new strategy experience.
