First Avatar 3 Clip Shows Menacing Villain Hunting the Sullys

I just saw the first clip from Avatar 3, which they’re also calling Avatar: Fire and Ash, and it looks amazing! It’s got this intense chase scene, and finally, we’re getting some real Na’vi villains in the story – something I’ve been waiting for. It’s hitting theaters December 19th, which feels like a long wait after The Way of Water became such a massive hit three years ago.

Varang and the Ash People hunt the Sullys in Avatar: Fire and Ash first full clip

The first official clip from Avatar 3 gives us a glimpse of the Ash People in action. In the scene, Varang and her tribe are hunting Jake and Neytiri’s children through Pandora’s rainforest. When they find the children, they let out a chilling cry and quickly give chase. Lo’ak warns his siblings, telling them “They’re coming,” and leads Kiri, Tuktirey, and Spider to safety in the water. As they swim, Lo’ak encourages everyone to remember the family motto: “Sullys never quit.”

The new footage reveals that ‘Fire and Ash’ will pit the Sully family against a Na’vi tribe for the first time. Unlike the previous films, which mainly focused on human villains – with the exception of Quaritch’s avatar in ‘The Way of Water’ – this conflict with Varang and the Ash People represents a significant shift in the series’ storytelling.

Neteyam’s death in The Way of Water proved that the younger characters aren’t safe from harm, and a new video highlights the serious dangers Lo’ak, Kiri, Tuk, and Spider now face. Since two more Avatar movies are planned, their survival isn’t guaranteed.

As a huge Avatar fan, I’m really excited about how ‘Fire and Ash’ is developing the next generation. It looks like Lo’ak is going to be the one telling us the story this time, which makes total sense considering how much more important he’s becoming. And Spider’s story is fascinating – he’s really stuck between two worlds, and I’ve even heard rumors he’s shown breathing Pandoran air without a mask, which is wild! But honestly, I’m most intrigued by Kiri. Her connection to Pandora and Eywa feels really special, and it seems like she might become a central character in the upcoming films. It’s great to see these characters get more depth and attention.

Audiences will find out what happens when Avatar: Fire and Ash releases in theaters this December.
