Kit Harington, known for his role in Game of Thrones, remembers a funny and slightly uncomfortable kissing scene he shared with co-star Sophie Turner. Both actors were essential to the huge success of HBO’s Game of Thrones, playing siblings Jon Snow and Sansa Stark. While their characters spent much of the series apart due to the complex storyline, their emotional reunion was a key part of the show’s ending.
It’s been a while since the controversial finale of Game of Thrones back in 2019, and both Kit Harington and Sophie Turner have been busy building impressive resumes in film and TV – really showing off what they can do. Now, they’re teaming up again for a new gothic horror film called The Dreadful. Kit recently shared a story about filming, and apparently, there was one moment that left him feeling a little embarrassed!
While talking about his new movie, The Family Plan 2, with E! News, Kit Harington shared a funny story about filming a kiss with his wife, Sophie Turner. He had to stand on an apple box because she’s taller than him, which he admitted was a little awkward. He also sweetly described how much he enjoyed working with Sophie again and how it rekindled their friendship.
It felt a little awkward having to stand on a box to reach her for a kiss – she’s a good foot taller than I am! But honestly, I mostly managed to keep my pride.
It was great to reconnect with her and collaborate on the project. We immediately fell back into our old friendship on set, and it felt incredibly comfortable, like being with family.
Premiering in November 2024, The Dreadful is a historical drama set during the War of the Roses. The story follows Anne (Turner) and her controlling mother-in-law, Morwen (played by Academy Award winner Marcia Gay Harden), who live a quiet, isolated life. The arrival of a man from their past (Harington) disrupts their seclusion and unleashes a chain of terrifying events that dramatically change Anne’s life. The series also stars Laurence O’Fuarain and Jonathan Howard.

I’m really excited about this new film – it’s from Natasha Kermani, who I first discovered with her movie Lucky a few years back. She’s quickly becoming a go-to director for really unsettling horror. This time around, the story centers on a successful author who suddenly finds herself stalked by a strange man. Kermani also directed a segment in V/H/S/85 and the short film Abraham Boys – that one had Titus Welliver playing Abraham Van Helsing, which was a cool touch. It’s all based on a short story by Joe Hill, so I’m expecting some seriously creepy vibes!
Kit Harington has recently appeared in thrillers and returned to HBO with a part in Industry. Meanwhile, Sophie Turner is getting ready to star in the live-action Tomb Raider series on Prime Video. However, for fans who loved them as Jon Snow and Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones, their roles in The Dreadful might be the most anticipated.
