A small detail is causing new problems for Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty and Holly Ramsay as they plan their wedding, adding to ongoing family drama.
It’s just awful, but Adam’s mum, Caroline, is really hurting right now. Apparently, she hasn’t been invited to his wedding to Holly, Gordon Ramsay’s daughter – she’s been completely ‘banned,’ and it’s breaking her heart. It’s the central part of everything that’s going on, and I feel so bad for her.
This is the same mother who, for years, woke up at 4 a.m. daily to drive her son to swimming practice, ultimately helping him become a three-time Olympic gold medalist.
Although Adam has alienated his mother – a choice he’ll likely come to regret – she’s unexpectedly found support from his former partner, and that should concern Gordon.
Gordon is mingling with famous celebrities like the Beckhams, but Caroline is busy building her own group of people.
Eirianedd Munro, age 27 and mother to five-year-old George, supports Caroline, even though she separated from George’s father, the swimmer Adam, in 2022.
Caroline and Eirianedd have always been supportive of each other online, regularly liking and commenting on each other’s posts. Their recent disagreement with the Ramsays has actually brought them even closer.
Eirianedd, who doesn’t often post on Instagram anymore, recently shared some beautiful photos of herself, her mother, and George from a family wedding.
The artist turned heads in a stunning burgundy satin dress featuring a high slit, and George looked charming in a beige shirt, brown pants, and suspenders.
She captioned the wholesome post: ‘We love because HE first loved us.’
Caroline rushed to comment: ‘Your mum looks beautiful as do u all x’.
Eirianedd, who lives in Wales with her family including her sister George, replied to a comment saying ‘Doesn’t she, thank you!’ and added a red heart emoji.
I know Caroline is absolutely devastated by the falling out between her family and the parents of her son’s partner this week. I truly believe any kindness shown to her right now will mean the world, and she’ll definitely appreciate it – she’s really hurting.
According to a source, Caroline and Eirianedd have remained close over the years. Caroline’s grandson is very important to her, and he’s helped maintain their connection.
Adam and Eirianedd led a simpler, more ordinary life compared to the current high-profile existence of the others. Their relationship didn’t have the same complications and issues that have arisen between Caroline, Adam, and Holly.
‘Caroline is devastated, so it’s nice to see her having any support like this.
‘You couldn’t find two more different women than Holly and Eirianedd. They are chalk and cheese.’
Earlier this month, news came out that Caroline was deeply upset after not being included in Holly’s pre-wedding celebration at the luxurious Soho Farmhouse in the Cotswolds. Holly’s mother, Tana, Adam’s sister Bethany, and Victoria Beckham were all there.
Caroline, who used to manage a nursery, spent the weekend caring for George. She says she felt completely defeated on the drive home after taking George back to his mother in Birmingham.
I was absolutely devastated, and I actually told the Daily Mail that I cried the entire drive home. It was a really dark moment – I went straight to Mark, my husband, and confessed that, for the very first time, I genuinely didn’t want to go on living. It was the lowest point I’ve ever experienced.
This has really taken a toll on me. I consider myself a strong person who can handle anything, but this situation has completely overwhelmed me.
Honestly, it didn’t surprise me at all when Caroline’s sister, Louise – she used to be a lawyer, you know – just completely went for Holly on Instagram! It was a full-on public takedown, and I was kind of waiting for someone in Caroline’s family to speak up, and Louise didn’t hold back at all.
I was really surprised to see Adam’s aunt publicly address Holly Ramsay after her hen do. She started by saying she was happy Holly had a good time and deserved it as a bride-to-be, but then she went on to say that Holly has been unkind and caused pain to someone she cares about deeply – a woman she clearly loves very much. It’s a really tough situation, and it felt very personal to see that played out publicly.
She finished by saying, “You’ve deeply hurt my sister, and it will take a very long time for her to recover, if she ever does.”
Caroline and her husband Mark, along with the rest of their family, have been uninvited from the wedding ceremony, which is scheduled to take place at the historic Bath Abbey on December 27th.
They have also had invitations withdrawn from Boxing Day drinks with the Ramsays the day before.
Honestly, I’m dying to know what Eirianedd really thinks about everything, but she’s completely shut everyone out! She’s had so many chances to talk about it, people have offered her everything, but she just doesn’t want to get involved, and it’s killing me! She just wants to stay far away from all the craziness, and I respect that, but still… I need to know!
Adam and Eirianedd broke up in 2022, three years after first connecting on Tinder. They met while Adam was training in Loughborough and Eirianedd was studying there.
Adam shared the news on social media, saying he was sorry to Eiri and George for disappointing them. He explained that his main concern right now is the well-being of their family during this challenging time.
Eirianedd announced the breakup on her social media, saying she expects a very challenging time ahead.
The couple’s breakup was partly attributed to the so-called ‘Strictly curse,’ stemming from the noticeable connection between Adam and his professional dance partner, Katya Jones, during the show.
However, his brother James was firm that the separation wasn’t related to his brother’s appearance on the popular BBC dance competition, explaining, ‘That was over a year ago, and it’s completely unrelated to Strictly.’
Adam and Holly first connected in 2021 while Holly’s sister, Tilly, was competing on Strictly Come Dancing. They started dating in May 2023 and publicly confirmed their relationship soon after, in June.
Caroline recently spoke to the Daily Mail about the growing and difficult conflict between her family and her future in-laws.
She said she knew this was goodbye, but she wanted Adam to remember one thing: she loved him, his father loved him, and he was always welcome to come home and talk, no matter what happened.
‘There’s nothing you’ve done that I would not forgive. I love you so much.
I truly wish you and Holly a happy and lasting marriage, just like my dad and I had. I’m sharing this because I want this situation to be over with.
Caroline understands how much her son’s life has changed, and her family is very worried about the Ramsay family’s power and control.
‘He’s under Gordon’s control,’ Caroline explained. ‘It feels like they’re deliberately keeping him distant from me. His family is very private and keeps to themselves.’
