The psychological thriller Mr. Mercedes has become increasingly popular in the UK since appearing on Netflix. Based on Stephen King’s Bill Hodges trilogy, the show features Brendan Gleeson as Hodges, a detective still troubled by a cold case. When someone starts to mock him, Hodges is drawn back into the investigation of a horrific crime: a stolen Mercedes driven into a crowd, killing sixteen people.
I’m really excited to see the cast they’ve put together for this! Along with Gleeson, Harry Treadaway is playing this character named Brady Hartsfield, and Holland Taylor is playing Hodges’ neighbor, Ida Silver. Plus, Justine Lupe is Holly Gibney, and Mary-Louise Parker is playing Holly’s aunt, Janey Patterson. It’s shaping up to be a great group!
I just started watching Mr. Mercedes on Netflix – it originally came out back in 2017, but it’s really taken off lately! I noticed it’s currently number eight in the top 10 shows people are watching in the UK right now.
