Lily Allen is continuing to publicly share details about the breakdown of her marriage to David Harbour, coinciding with the release of a new music video for her album, which she’s described as being about getting even.
The singer recently released a short visual clip for their song ‘Tennis,’ which is the fourth track on their album ‘West End Girl.’
In the video, Lily is wearing black and seated on a park bench. Two men then enter the scene carrying a floral arrangement shaped to spell out ‘husband’.
It broke my heart to watch Lily. She just stood there, completely defeated, as those men carelessly tossed the flowers into the trash. Then, to make it even worse, someone actually threw a tennis ball at her. She didn’t even react, she was just…numb.
In the song “Tennis,” Lily sings about discovering a text message from a woman named Madeline on her partner’s phone, leading her to believe they are having an affair.
In her song, Lily uses tennis as a way to talk about sex, expressing regret with the line, ‘So I read your text, and now I regret it.’

She went on to say she couldn’t understand what was going on with his tennis, implying it was more than just a casual relationship. She clarified that if it was only about physical intimacy, she wouldn’t be feeling jealous.
‘You won’t play with me and who the f**k is Madeline?’
The singer’s latest album explores the details of her relationship and subsequent divorce from David. They were married in Las Vegas in September 2020, but their marriage ended after four difficult years, with the split occurring last year.
Her songs are known for being brutally honest and deeply personal, detailing the difficult end of her relationship.
In a recent interview, Lily stated she has no desire for revenge against her former partner and doesn’t believe she’s acting maliciously by sharing details about their relationship.
Her songs explore her past relationship, mixing real events with imagination. She’s publicly wondered if her ex had a problem with sex addiction and described discovering many sex toys and condoms at a second home she jokingly calls ‘Pussy Palace’.
Let me tell you, dealing with infidelity is never easy. I actually went to David’s mistress myself, because honestly, I just couldn’t believe a word he said anymore. It got to the point where his explanations felt completely untrustworthy, so I needed to get some answers directly from the source.
West End Girl received excellent reviews and immediately topped the charts as the UK’s best-selling digital album.

Lily recently released a new song called “Madeline,” where she openly discusses her ex-boyfriend David’s cheating. One lyric expresses her feelings of distrust, stating, “I can’t trust anything that comes out of his mouth.”
When the album came out, the artist’s many fans flooded social media, eager to find out who Madeline was – and, as Lily sang in the lyrics, ‘Who the heck is Madeline?’
The song quickly reminded people of a track on Beyoncé’s 2016 album, Lemonade. That song sparked global rumors about who ‘Becky with the good hair’ was – a woman rumored to have had a relationship with Jay-Z.
Lily has emphasized that ‘Madeline’, like ‘Becky’ before her, is a fictional name. However, this has sparked a search to discover the real-life woman who inspired not only this song, but several others on Lily’s first album in seven years, which explores themes of anger. The Mail on Sunday was the first to report that ‘Madeline’ is based on Natalie.
A mother from New Orleans revealed she’s the woman featured in Allen’s latest album and the reason for his divorce. She shared this information with the newspaper from her home in the historic Treme neighborhood.

‘Of course I’ve heard the song,’ Natalie had said, rolling her eyes.
I have a family to think about and people I need to protect. I have a young daughter, who’s two and a half, and I’m aware of what’s happening. Honestly, it’s a bit frightening for me.
As a lifestyle expert, I’ve been following the buzz, and it seems Natalie and David actually first connected on the set of their movie, ‘We Have A Ghost,’ back in 2021. They were filming in New Orleans at the time, and he’s 16 years older than her – he’s 50, while she’s in her early thirties. It’s always interesting to see how connections happen, especially on set!
David starred as the main actor in the film, and Natalie was a costume designer. They supposedly began a romantic relationship soon after filming started.
David married Lily in Las Vegas last year. Lily has two daughters from a previous marriage – Ethel, who is 13, and Marnie, who is 12. Lily was previously married to Sam Cooper.
After filming wrapped up, Harbour allegedly brought Natalie back to his home in Atlanta, and their affair continued while he was still with Lily.
Allen discovered her secret relationship when he found a revealing text on her phone, and she channeled the pain of her failing marriage into songwriting.
