Gumayusi, a three-time world champion, the 2025 Finals MVP, and widely considered the best ADC player ever, is leaving T1.
T1 has announced that it’s releasing Lee “Gumayusi” Min-hyung, a three-time champion widely considered the best ADC player ever. Here’s a look at where he might play next, his farewell message to fans, and the impact this has on the bot lane position in the LCK.
T1 Gumayusi no more
T1’s recent announcement spread quickly online. Fans are still celebrating the team’s historic three-peat win in League of Legends Esports just a few weeks ago, making the news that Gumayusi is leaving particularly surprising. The announcement has already received almost 2 million views on X (formerly Twitter) in less than an hour.
The announcement included a video with the title “THANK YOU, LEE ‘GUMAYUSI’ MIN-HYUNG.” In the video, the three-time champion and Finals MVP shares his experiences with T1, what drove him, and a thank you message to his fans.
The AD carry announced he’s leaving T1 to pursue new opportunities and challenge himself further. He also shared a touching message with his fans.

We’ve shared some incredible moments, and also faced tough challenges together. I’m so thankful you remained by my side and loved me as Gumayusi of T1. While this news might be upsetting, I’m still Gumayusi, and I hope you’ll continue to support me until the very end.
Gumayusi to his fans
Where is Gumayusi heading?
As of now, it’s still unknown where he’ll be playing next, and neither he nor his organization has made an official announcement. This is significant news, as Gumayusi has played for T1 throughout his entire professional League of Legends career.

Many League of Legends fans believe Gumayusi will be joining Hanwha Life Esports. If current Hanwha player Zeus decides to stay with the team, this would mean a reunion for the former T1 teammates. Fans currently think Kim “Peyz” Su-hwan is the most likely candidate to take Gumayusi’s place on his old team.
This news is sure to shake up the LCK. If the rumors about HLE are true, Park “Viper” Do-hyeon will likely be a highly sought-after player. If not, teams will definitely be competing to sign Gumayusi.
