Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo cause a stir with ANOTHER ‘ridiculous’ red carpet moment

Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo are once again raising eyebrows with their red carpet interactions.

Stars of the movie Wicked have shared several awkward moments on the red carpet while promoting the first film, and another one of these clips is now getting attention as the release of the second movie approaches.

A video from the press tour for their first movie shows 38-year-old Cynthia Erivo pausing an interview to carefully adjust 32-year-old Ariana Grande’s diamond necklace for quite a while.

A lot of fans said there was never a problem with the necklace to begin with, and many described the whole situation as silly.

When Erivo began fidgeting with her necklace—just after she helped Ariana Grande when a fan unexpectedly approached her on the red carpet—Grande commented that Erivo seemed concerned and was likely going to take care of whatever was bothering her, adding, ‘I know she’ll fix it.’

Erivo apologizes, saying something feels off as she keeps adjusting her necklace.

Ariana Grande noticed Cynthia Erivo had the same habit of constantly adjusting her jewelry – a little ‘fixing itch,’ as Grande called it – demonstrated when Erivo repeatedly turned her necklace to display and then re-position the clasp.

Grande then says ‘thank you’ as Erivo continues to move the diamonds around.

The interviewer moved on to the next question, and Ariana Grande chuckled while Cynthia Erivo continued determinedly trying to fasten the necklace.

Someone on Reddit commented that the girl’s necklace seemed fine and wasn’t causing any problems, despite what people thought.

She deliberately fiddled with something – turning it around and back again – seemingly just to have something to do during the interview and appear more engaged.

‘She actually messed it up,’ someone else claimed.

Someone else commented that it would feel more genuine if she hadn’t filmed that part, since there wasn’t any need to edit it later.

Cynthia actually made the necklace look worse! It was perfectly fine to begin with, though.

‘It is so crazy how she fixed nothing.’

‘This was so weird like why.’

Grande and Erivo both attended the 16th Governors Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday.

Grande wowed in a delicate one-shoulder pale pink vintage Dior gown designed by John Galliano.

The star wore her tresses in a chic updo.

Erivo rocked a unique Givenchy coat dress with a dramatic fringe trim.

This follows recent criticism of the pair, who were teased for excessively praising each other’s ‘auras’ in a dramatic conversation.

At the Paris premiere of Wicked: For Good on Friday, a journalist from Elle magazine asked the pop star and Academy Award-nominated actress to describe the energy they felt from each other.

Ariana said Cynthia’s was ‘yellow,’ like ‘sunshine.’ She added, ‘I think there’s also purple.’

Cynthia described Ariana’s coloring, saying it reminded her of a mix of sky blue, aqua, and sunset orange.

After the red carpet appearance, someone commented on Reddit, ‘I can’t relive that again,’ recalling the awkward publicity events the actors had last year.

And earlier this week, Erivo broke her silence on their viral ‘holding space’ interview.

During the interview, the two talked about the final song from Wicked, “Defying Gravity,” with Out Magazine‘s Tracy E. Gilchrist. Gilchrist noted that fans were deeply connecting with the song’s lyrics and finding meaning in them.

In the video, Cynthia seemed genuinely surprised, covering her chest with her hand as she said, ‘I had no idea! That’s amazing—exactly what I was hoping for.’

Cynthia recently discussed the incident while appearing in a photoshoot for GQ, explaining it was simply a natural, confused reaction.

It was a really strange experience. I got one message, Ari got another, and the journalist, Tracy, seemed to change her mind about what she was saying, making the whole situation confusing. Despite the confusion, though, we all ended up feeling strangely touched.

Cynthia shared that strangers now frequently ask to hold her finger in public, which makes her uncomfortable.

‘I hate it,’ Cynthia said. ‘I don’t want anyone holding my finger.’

Wicked: For Good is set to hit cinemas on November 21.

Ariana Grande had a difficult week, reportedly experiencing a traumatic reaction after a man unexpectedly approached her on the red carpet on Thursday.

During the Singapore premiere of her film Wicked: For Good, Ariana Grande was briefly grabbed by a fan who jumped over a security barrier. Her co-star, Cynthia Erivo, and several bodyguards quickly intervened to help.

Johnson Wen, known online as ‘Pyjama Man’ and self-proclaimed as the ‘most hated troll’ on Instagram, shared photos and videos both before and after he attacked Grande.

In a disturbing video, he laughs wildly while explaining his plan to see Ariana Grande, whom he calls his “best friend,” and says he’s been eagerly anticipating the meeting.

Following the incident, security for Ariana Grande will be significantly increased. There’s been some surprise that Cynthia Erivo, a public figure who also faces security risks, immediately spoke out in support of Grande before security personnel could intervene.
