Tina Knowles has taken to Instagram to honor a Beyoncé fan after her shock death last week.
On Saturday, the 71-year-old woman celebrated Sydney Hardeman, who became well-known in 2019 after being featured in the Netflix documentary Beyoncé: Homecoming.
Jamie Hardeman, the mother of Hardeman, shared with TMZ on Saturday that her daughter died by suicide last weekend.
Knowles honored the recently deceased fan, who was only 25 years old, with a video collection and a heartfelt message.
She expressed her sadness upon learning of the passing, saying, ‘It’s heartbreaking to lose such a wonderful person.’ She extended her deepest sympathy to the family, friends, and fellow community members who knew and cared for her.
I remember seeing the viral video of her reaction at Coachella, and all the photos that followed. Though I didn’t know her personally, I’m deeply saddened by the loss of such a young and beautiful woman. I’m sending my prayers to her family.

Written over the video was, ‘Rest in Heaven, Sydney — one of our beloved Beyhive.’
Tina’s post has received over 104,000 likes from her 4.2 million social media followers.
Hardeman’s wide-eyed, jaw-dropped reaction quickly turned her into a fan-favorite meme.
Okay, let me tell you, I was obsessed with Beyoncé back in high school! It was a huge part of my life, and I actually poured my heart and soul into a dance routine set to all her best songs. It was so rewarding – I even won an award for it during my senior year! It really showed me the power of following your passions.
Before her premature death, she was preparing for an April 2026 wedding.
Oh my gosh, you won’t BELIEVE how amazing Hardeman is! I’ve been digging into her background, and she was a basketball star growing up – seriously, she played all through college! But get this, after that she became a flight instructor down in Texas. It’s like she can do anything! I just… I’m obsessed with learning everything about her.
After her grandfather passed away, her mood reportedly changed, and those close to her are still trying to understand the circumstances surrounding her tragic death.
Hardeman’s mother spoke to Beyoncé’s fans, sharing a heartfelt message in memory of her daughter: ‘You’re all young and full of energy, and the best is yet to come. Remember to rely on your support system – Sydney had a wonderful one. Don’t be afraid to be open and vulnerable with the people around you, so they can be there for you when you need help.’
Your parents are here for you and want to help. It’s okay to feel sad or discouraged – everyone goes through tough times. Remember, the best is yet to come, so please don’t give up.

She explained that Sydney didn’t want to leave and cared deeply for everyone here. She asked that you all take care of yourselves and each other, and reach out for help if you need it, in her memory.
Jamie also talked about how her daughter became popular online, sharing that the girl really wanted to see Beyoncé perform at Coachella. Eventually, she and her brother and best friend traveled all the way from Texas to California to make it happen.
I remember when we got to the festival, I immediately ran to the front of the main stage and claimed my spot at the rail. I wasn’t moving – I stayed there for a full twelve hours, determined to be as close as possible when my favorite performer finally came on. It was totally worth it!
She didn’t expect to see herself in the Homecoming video, and she actually screamed when she did, while watching it in her dorm room at college.
In a 2019 interview with Buzzfeed, Hardeman shared that she had been a fan of the artist since she was 13 years old.
She recalled being photographed at the concert, so it didn’t surprise her to see herself in the Netflix documentary.
The fan said they were surprised not to see themselves in the footage, remembering the camera being very close during the event. However, they were thrilled to be included at all, taking it as a sign that Beyoncé recognized them.
