Sam Thompson shares his fears over becoming a dad after going public with new romance with model Talitha Balinska

Sam Thompson recently revealed he’s feeling anxious about becoming a father, especially now that he’s in a public relationship with model Talitha Balinska.

Thirty-three-year-old podcaster Sam and his new girlfriend, 25-year-old Talitha, are reportedly very close, spending almost all their time together. They were introduced by Sam’s friend and former co-star on the show Made In Chelsea, Reza Amiri-Garroussi.

Sam recently shared his honest feelings about wanting children, and revealed how old he’d like to be when he has them.

Sam confessed to his friend Pete Wicks on their podcast, Staying Relevant, that the idea of becoming a dad is really scaring him.

You know, Sam started talking about always wanting to move to LA, and it really struck a chord with me. He seemed to be wrestling with the idea that maybe he’d left it too late. He was saying he feels like you really have to be young to chase those big dreams, and I think he’s worried he’s missed his chance.

We’re actually pretty alike, I think. I’ve always been the type to just go with the flow, but the idea of becoming a father has been really worrying me lately. It’s a bit scary, honestly.

Pete wondered if Sam had thought about when he wanted to have children. Sam responded that it really depends on finding the right partner and whether it feels right with that person.

If I had to guess, I’d say around 36, giving me less than three years. But I realize that’s probably not realistic, which is disappointing.

Sam recently revealed he’s dating model Talitha, but explained he’s still hesitant to make their relationship official.

Talitha and Sam first crossed paths in 2023 while working on a photoshoot for Dinelli, Sam and Reza’s sunglasses brand. Talitha was the model for the campaign, but Sam was dating Zara McDermott at the time.

Sam confirmed that their romance is becoming more serious, but they aren’t official just yet. 

Pete started by asking where things stood, then described a pattern that included excessive flattery at first, followed by controlling behavior that made it difficult to socialize.

He continued, “So, it seems like you’re dating. Are we just acknowledging that you’re currently seeing each other?”

Sam was beaming as he admitted, even before Pete could ask, ‘What’s your plan for asking her out? Are you thinking of doing something like they do on Love Island?’

Sam said, ‘No, there haven’t been any discussions about that at all. The best part is there’s absolutely no pressure, and no rush to make a decision.’

‘The worst part about this is, if she sees this, I could get canned next week.’

Pete reacted to the news of Sam and Zara’s breakup by saying he couldn’t handle another one so soon. He jokingly asked Zara to wait until next year before splitting with anyone and then asked for an update on the situation.

Sam admitted he’s taking things easy when it comes to dating. He’s enjoying getting to know people without any pressure, and honestly, he’s not even sure he’d know how to ask someone out on a date if he tried.

‘I would panic. I haven’t asked someone out in years.’ 

During the show, Pete playfully teased Sam about being left out of a double date, saying it made him feel a bit down.

Pete eagerly asked when he would finally meet the woman he’s been anticipating, saying he was impatiently waiting to find out when they would be introduced.

Sam said he wasn’t sure he was up to the task, and added that his dates probably wouldn’t be people I’d like. He repeated the question, wondering if I’d even want to meet them.

Pete explained that Sam had invited him on a double date over the weekend, but it was a bit complicated. It involved Sam, a friend of his, Pete, and a friend of Pete’s, plus each of their other friends. Pete decided it was too much and turned down the invitation.

He initially mentioned wanting to meet up, then suggested we make it a double date. I followed up by asking if our original plans still stood.

Basically, they’re saying you’re welcome to join, but it’s going to be a very affectionate and intimate dinner – lots of couples being lovey-dovey. They’re worried it might be uncomfortable for you, especially knowing you’re already feeling down.

While he was talking, Sam laughed and told Pete he was incorrect, saying his statements weren’t true.

Sam and Talitha recently met again when Talitha unexpectedly appeared as a guest at Sam’s sold-out live show in London. According to one source, their connection sparked immediately after that.

Sam has shown Talitha how important their relationship is by introducing her to his family – his sister Louise, her fiancé Ryan, and their son Leo.
