I’m A Celebrity’s AngryGinge sends football star into hysterical laughter as he reveals his real name in viral clip

Just before “I’m A Celebrity” starts on Sunday, a video of AngryGinge sharing his actual name with Micah Richards became popular online, causing the football commentator to laugh uncontrollably.

The 24-year-old Twitch streamer is preparing to compete in the jungle, and betting sites are already predicting he’ll win.

Known online as Angryginge and Angryginge13, this social media star’s real name is a mystery to many, even some of his followers.

Micah, a host on The Rest Is Football podcast, burst out laughing when AngryGinge shared his real name – Morgan Burtwistle – on the Baller League UK podcast.

A video quickly spread across Reddit and TikTok, capturing a content creator asking a famous footballer to help him out.

He jokingly suggested that the next time his interviewer appears on Sky, they should mention his name. Micah then asked for his legal name.

When AngryGinge responded with ‘Morgan,’ the Match of the Day presenter burst into laughter, exclaiming, ‘WHAT? Morgan?’ with tears in their eyes.

AngryGinge protested, asking what the problem was, while Micah continued to laugh and playfully called out, “Oh Morgan?”

The streamer then shared a surprising story: his dad actually wanted to dye his hair when he was a baby, simply because he was born with red hair!

Micah curiously asks for the star’s last name, and bursts into laughter when AngryGinge replies with ‘Burtwistle’. Micah playfully repeats, ‘Oh my, oh my, oh my, Morgan Burtwistle,’ joining in the amusement.

The video quickly went viral, with many viewers amused by the moment and sharing comments like, ‘He was laughing so hard he couldn’t even say his own name!’

Morgan Burtwhistle always seemed destined for trouble; his name sounds like something out of a mischievous children’s book. Meanwhile, Micah Richards is widely beloved and considered a true gem.

People have commented that Micah’s name sounds like it belongs in a Harry Potter book. He’s known for being energetic and having a really infectious laugh. As for Morgan Burtwhistle, some have jokingly described him as embodying a stereotypical British adult film actor.

That was absolutely hilarious! Their laughter was so contagious, and the story about his dad wanting to dye his hair when he was young was amazing. You could even hear his voice get higher when he laughed – he was practically falling out of his chair!

AngryGinge has gained a large online following – over five million people across social media – and has earned around £1 million by livestreaming on Twitch. He typically streams from his bedroom, casually discussing football and current events.

Before going into the jungle, he explained that he was looking forward to a break from talking. He usually streams online for six to nine hours at a time, which requires a lot of continuous speaking.

He acknowledged he’s feeling stressed about living up to expectations and keeping ITV viewers entertained, and also revealed he worries about not being good enough, a feeling known as imposter syndrome.

He explained to the Daily Mail that he always feels a responsibility to create entertaining television, and that being on the show adds a little extra pressure to deliver something good for viewers. He wants to ensure people enjoy watching, no matter what happens during filming.

I’m mostly worried about meeting my fellow actors, as I’ve never considered myself famous.

Meeting celebrities is definitely nerve-wracking! Seeing them on TV my whole life, I’m worried I’ll feel like I don’t belong or that I’m not good enough when I actually meet them.

He’s already friends with several well-known people, such as Wayne Rooney and Luke Littler – the latter of whom he watched TV with on the show Celebrity Gogglebox.

Okay, so it all started with FIFA streams! Seriously, watching AngryGinge and Wayne play together was amazing. They just clicked, you know? It wasn’t just a streamer and a footballer thing, they genuinely became friends through all those games. It was so cool to watch their relationship build!

I’ve always been a huge fan of Wayne Rooney, and I completely agree with what AngryGinge said – he’s just a genuinely brilliant guy. What really strikes me is how normal and down-to-earth he is, and he’s seriously funny! He was my idol growing up, and still is, to be honest.

It’s amazing that I was able to visit him at his place, have a drink, and just relax and talk – I never thought it would happen.

He received helpful tips from Coleen Rooney, Wayne’s wife and the second-place finisher on last year’s ‘I’m A Celebrity,’ about how to thrive on the show.

He told me Wayne was really excited when I said I was interested. Wayne said he’s looking forward to it and will even vote for me to participate in the trials. It’s good to know I have their support to go through with them.

Coleen gave me some helpful advice and tips for what to expect, which was great.

The 39-year-old contestant, who finished second to Danny Jones from the band McFly, advised the social media personality to cut back on caffeine a month before the show. She also suggested he empty his water bottle during challenges so the production team could refill it with cleaner water, as the water available in camp tasted ‘smokey’.

AngryGinge was among the first celebrities seen completing a challenge alongside Ruby Wax, Lisa Riley, Jack Osbourne, and Alex Scott, before the show officially begins on Sunday.

The celebrities arrived at the luxurious Rivermead Estate to begin their experience on ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!’, where they were welcomed by the show’s familiar hosts, Ant and Dec.

To compete for a comfortable bed in camp, contestants had to endure a terrifying challenge: they were required to place a glass bowl filled with snakes over their heads, all for a chance to win a spot in the Getaway Car.

The three celebrities who lost the challenge were sent to the dreaded Coco Van – a smelly bus full of fish waste driven by Kiosk Kev – and will miss out on any camp luxuries when they eventually join the main camp.

Even though they’ve finished the challenges to decide their camp positions, they won’t go into the Jungle until Saturday.

Heavy rain and thunderstorms on Australia’s Gold Coast disrupted the trial, causing several hours of delays, according to those who watched it happen.

Yesterday, the remaining five contestants – Martin Kemp from Spandau Ballet, model Kelly Brook, rapper Aitch, comedian Eddie Kadi, and former EastEnders actress Shona McGarty – faced their challenge by parachuting onto a beach from helicopters.

The contestants cheered and danced together on the beach after successfully parachuting from helicopters, marking a quick win on the reality show.

Ant and Dec watched from the cliffside as the newest group of contestants completed their challenge, waving to them as they finished.
