RHOA star Porsha Williams says she finally figured out dating at age 44… after revealing she is romancing a woman

Porsha Williams, 44, says she’s finally getting the hang of dating, just a month after publicly sharing that she’s in a relationship with a woman.

During a panel at BravoCon 2025 in Las Vegas on Saturday, star of The Real Housewives of Atlanta discussed her recent divorce from Simon Guobadia, which was finalized in June.

Oh my gosh, you won’t BELIEVE this! Someone actually ASKED her – her! – for dating advice! It was this fan, around my age, who was, like, totally stressed about getting back out there. Can you imagine? She got to ask her what to do?! I’m so jealous, but also so thrilled she got a personal tip from the queen herself!

Williams admitted that it had taken her until she was 44-years-old to ‘figure it out.’ 

I’m a real romantic at heart. If we connect and both feel the same way, I imagine a future where we build a life together, doing things as a couple. Isn’t that how it should be?

Okay, so she basically said I need to stop stressing so much about finding ‘the one,’ and if I want a real connection, I have to switch things up. Like, my current approach just isn’t working if I want someone who gets me, you know? It’s like she’s reading my mind! I need to try something completely new to find someone truly compatible. It’s so obvious, but hearing her say it? Life-changing.

Oh my gosh, Williams actually said it! He was like, ‘Look, I didn’t get it until I was 44, and you’re still in your early 30s, so chill! Just… let it go!’ It was the most insightful thing ever, honestly. He just gets me, you know?

She finished her advice by saying, ‘Date with a clear sense of self and knowing what you’re looking for, and don’t hesitate to end things immediately if you spot a problem!’

Oh my gosh, I’ve been following her forever! I was totally hooked when she first joined Real Housewives of Atlanta back in 2012, and I was devastated when she left in 2021. Seriously, the show just wasn’t the same! But then… she came back last year! I nearly screamed! Having her back on RHOA is everything, honestly. I’m so obsessed!

When a fellow fan questioned whether The Real Housewives of Atlanta receives enough credit for being a show with a predominantly Black cast, Williams confirmed that it does.

She also spoke about the love and support she received while she was away from the show for three years.

The reality star playfully acknowledged her and her fellow cast members’ confidence, telling the audience that their success was undeniable.

During BravoCon this weekend, Williams shared an update on her dating life, explaining that she’s currently seeing people, though she isn’t in a committed relationship.

She shared that while she’s still dating, she’s particularly interested in one person and hopes it could develop into a relationship, but she’s taking things slowly.

Last October, while speaking at CultureCon in New York City, Williams shared that she is dating a woman.

The TV personality said, ‘The people I’m currently speaking with are both very pleasant.’

She went on to explain to the audience that she simply wanted to confirm everyone there was just an ordinary group of people.

I was talking to my therapist about how it’s difficult for me to really open up to people who aren’t narcissistic. Narcissists, on the other hand, are often very attentive and overwhelming with affection at first – they seem to do everything right and make you feel incredibly understood.

She added that both people are presenting difficulties and aren’t actively working towards building a relationship.

I’m still hesitant to fully share my feelings. I’ve come to understand that if I want things to change, I need to change too – specifically, I need to become more open and vulnerable.

Williams explained that he’s trying to keep his expectations realistic and understand that people will sometimes challenge him.

The reality star married Simon Guobadia in November 2022, but she filed for divorce in February 2024.

In June, it came to light that Guobadia had been deported to Nigeria after being held by ICE for four months.

She posted on Instagram, saying she was upset that her soon-to-be ex-husband had made decisions that resulted in this situation.

Williams ended the statement by saying her main focus right now is her family, and included a praying hands emoji.

The reality TV personality talked about her dating life in an interview with Entertainment Tonight at BravoCon 2025, following her recent divorce.

She shared that she’s been having a great time and really enjoying the dating process. More importantly, she’s focusing on self-love and prioritizing her own happiness right now.

Williams also agreed that she feels ‘free’ following her split. 

Honestly, I’m really prioritizing what I want right now, and it feels amazing. I’m letting go of trying to please everyone else and just doing what genuinely brings me joy. It’s simple – if something feels good, if it resonates with my soul, I’m doing it. And the best part? I feel so much more peaceful and grounded. My body just feels… calm.

I was so excited to hear her mention that she’s actually seeing someone special right now! She didn’t say who it is, and I totally respect that, but it’s lovely to know she’s happy. I’m dying to find out, though!

Let’s talk a little about her past! Before her current relationship, she was married to Kordell Stewart, who played in the NFL, for a couple of years – from 2011 to 2013, to be exact. It’s always interesting to see how people’s journeys unfold, isn’t it?
