Shona McGarty showed she’s up for any challenge on the show, even submerging her head in a bath of gravy to earn stars.
The 34-year-old actress shared a funny video on Instagram Saturday, showing how seriously she’s preparing to travel to Australia, where she’ll be joining many other celebrities this Sunday.
In the video, Shona puts on a tight black jumpsuit while her bathtub fills with a thick, dark gravy mixture.
Oh my gosh, it was like something straight out of ‘I’m A Celebrity!’ – a voiceover started explaining this whole ‘challenge,’ and Shona? She didn’t even hesitate. She just jumped right in! It was amazing, she’s so fearless!
Climbing into the tub fully clothed, she grimaces as she squeals: ‘Oh, I can feel it in my toes!’
The actress lowered herself to her hands and knees, took a deep breath, and dunked her head into the murky water. She was trying to grab stars with just her mouth, completely soaking her hair in the process.

With suspenseful music rising, Shona suddenly reappears, holding a star tightly in her mouth.
‘I got it’, she declares, as the person filming cheers: ‘Well done! Now drop it back in.’
Soaked through, Shona playfully tells the camera, ‘It’s really slippery – feels like a giant Yorkshire pudding!’ This week on Come Dine With Me, she’s preparing gravy.
Alongside the video, she captioned the post: ‘When the campmates need stars… you get stars.
‘Even if that means rolling up your sleeves and fishing them out of a bath full of gravy.
The third episode of The Garden Jungle is now available, and Shona is showing she can handle whatever challenges come her way.
Shona recently revealed her difficult five-year struggle with anxiety and depression, and expressed concern about how it might affect her experience on the show.
She shared that she’s been privately struggling with anxiety and depression and is currently receiving treatment with medication.

As a lifestyle expert, I often talk about prioritizing mental wellbeing, and I completely understand when people take steps to challenge themselves. Shona recently shared with the Daily Mail that she’s been dealing with anxiety and depression for the past four or five years, and that’s actually what motivated her to take on ‘I’m A Celebrity’ this year – a really brave move, if you ask me!
I used to let anxiety hold me back from pursuing my dreams, but I’ve reached a point where I’m determined not to let it control my life anymore.
I was so surprised to hear Shona and David Bracken called off their engagement – they said they just wanted different things, which is always sad. But I’m really excited for her! She’s following in the footsteps of stars like Martin Kemp and Kelly Brook and heading to Australia, and I can’t wait to see what she does over there.
After joining ITV’s popular reality show, she explained that this was a fresh start, an opportunity for both the public and herself to rediscover who she is.
Shona, who exited EastEnders last year, explained that she’s never had a job where she could truly be herself.
Okay, so this is totally different for me, and honestly, I’m a little nervous! It’s just… everyone knows me as that character, the one I’ve played for ages. This is a chance for them to finally see me, the real me, you know? I’m so excited, and a little terrified, to see how people react to that!
‘But I’m scared that the anxiety might rear its ugly head.’
The actress, originally from Essex, became known for her role as Whitney on EastEnders, joining the soap in 2008 and remaining until last year.

She spoke about the impact of being a child star on her mental wellbeing, explaining that when you’re in the public eye from a young age, it’s hard to be honest about how you’re really feeling. People would ask if she was okay, and she felt pressured to always say yes, even if she wasn’t.
I was raised to just put on a brave face and pretend everything’s okay, even when it’s not. That’s how I learned to cope.
People seem to assume that if you’re an actress, you should always be happy and self-assured. There’s an expectation that you’re okay, because that’s part of the job.
Shona praised the BBC for looking after her well-being and providing support for her mental health while she was growing up as one of their talents.
She acknowledged that she often feels hesitant to admit when she’s struggling, worrying it might be seen as unprofessional.
‘Or maybe you might lose your job or get killed off.’
