Bella Hadid has shared that she experiences anxiety related to her health, particularly while dealing with Lyme disease.
The 29-year-old model, first diagnosed with a long-term neurological condition in 2013, used her Instagram account on Friday to share an update about her health.
The celebrity shared a post from @chronicillnesshumor that humorously pointed out the frustrating experience of living with a long-term illness. The post read: ‘When your chronic illness is flaring up and someone says, “It’s always something with you,” it’s because… well, the illness is chronic.’
Bella shared a post by influencer Alexandra Wildeson called ‘The Duality of Life with Chronic Illness’.
The celebrity wrote, ‘Dealing with health anxiety is incredibly real. Thanks for perfectly capturing what goes through my mind every day in just one post – so true! @alexandrawildeson.’
Bella Hadid has been openly sharing her experiences with Lyme disease, a condition also affecting her mother, Yolanda, and brother, Anwar.

As someone who often shares glimpses into a balanced life, I recently felt it was important to be open about my own anxiety. I shared a bit about my experiences last month on World Mental Health Day, hoping to connect with others and remind everyone that it’s okay to not be okay.
She shared that she had been struggling with anxiety and depression for a long time.
It can feel overwhelming, like it’s taking over your life, and it’s often something others don’t understand. You might find yourself crying before the day even begins, struggling to understand why you feel so weighed down when everything around you appears positive.
Bella added that, ‘there is often a deep sense of shame that comes with mental health struggles.
I often think about how fortunate I am, yet I also struggle with ongoing feelings of sadness, depression, and overwhelming anxiety.
The star added that she ‘learned that this is not a weakness – it’s a part of me.’
She later wrote, ‘To anyone else going through this every day: please remember you’re not alone, and I care about you deeply…’
As many of you may remember, back in September I saw Bella share some photos on Instagram that revealed she was receiving treatment in the hospital. It was a really vulnerable moment, and she bravely opened up a little about what she was going through.

Photos showed the model connected to an IV drip, and in another, she took a selfie while resting in bed with an ice pack on her forehead.
‘I’m sorry I always go MIA I love you guys,’ she wrote in the caption at the time.
That same month, Yolanda shared a heartfelt post online detailing her daughter’s struggle with Lyme disease.
Bella was in a hospital bed with IVs connected to her, and in another photo, Yolanda kissed her daughter on the cheek.
Yolanda wrote that it’s difficult for people to grasp the challenges of chronic neurological Lyme disease because it’s an invisible illness.
I always try to show strength while dealing with Lyme disease, but it’s far more heartbreaking to see my child go through this.
She also sent a heartwarming message to Bella, saying, ‘You’re incredibly strong and brave. No child should have to deal with the pain and challenges of a chronic illness that can’t be cured.’
Honestly, I’m just blown away by how strong you are. Seeing you keep going, keep fighting for better health even when everything seems to be falling apart and nothing’s working… it’s incredible. It really gets to me, how you just don’t give up, even with all the roadblocks. I just think it’s amazing.

Yolanda went on, ‘No words can truly capture the immense darkness, pain, and unimaginable hardship you’ve faced since you were diagnosed in 2013.’
‘You didn’t really live, you learned how to exist inside the jail of your own paralyzed brain.’
She shared how incredibly proud she is of her daughter, describing her as both a survivor and a strong, resilient person.
Bella has openly shared her struggles with Lyme disease on social media. Because of her health, she took a five-month break from modeling in 2023.
Last month in October, Bella strutted on the runway during the 2025 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
She wore several different outfits to the event, including a striking look featuring 50-pound angel wings and sparkling silver lingerie.

After appearing on the runway, people expressed worry about Bella’s health, leading her to share what was going on.
I was honestly so worried watching Bella Hadid on the runway! This TikTok video really captured how many of us felt – we were all concerned because she looked like she was about to cry the entire time. Everyone’s asking what’s going on and if someone needs to check in on her. It’s just heartbreaking to see, and we’re all sending her love and hoping she’s okay.
The media personality also added, ‘I’m sorry if I let u down. Love you I mean it.’

Bella previously explained her appearance at the fashion show in a post that has since been removed, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
‘Ok we’re not going to pretend these wings weren’t 50 pounds but HOW BEAUTIFUL,’ she had stated.
The actress, who is dating professional horse rider Adan Banuelos, recently turned 29 in October.
She celebrated her birthday with a small, private gathering, and Hailey Bieber was among the close friends who joined her.
