- Her gameplay is quite aggressive as she can easily control the tide of teamfights.
Rell is the newest champion added to League of Legends: Wild Rift, and she excels as a Tank or Support. Her abilities are incredibly strong – she can reduce enemies’ defenses, destroy their shields, knock them into the air, and even pull teammates to her side, making her a powerful front-line fighter. This guide will give you a complete overview of Rell, including how to maximize her skills, choose the best items, and learn helpful tips and tricks to give you an edge in the game.
Wild Rift Rell Guide: Skill Analysis
Passive: Break the Mold
Rell weakens enemies with her attacks and abilities, reducing their Armor and Magic Resist by 2.5% for up to 5 seconds. This effect can stack up to 5 times on each enemy, potentially increasing her damage by up to 12.5%. Each attack also deals extra magic damage based on the target’s Armor and Magic Resist (4 + 5% of both stats). She guarantees to steal at least 1.5 to 3 Armor and Magic Resist with each basic attack, but this doesn’t work on minions or large neutral monsters.
Skill 1: Shattering Strike
Rell attacks with her lance, causing magic damage and briefly stunning enemies for 0.65 seconds. This attack also removes any shields from enemies, but it won’t affect shields on monsters.

Skill 2: Ferromancy – Crash Down/Mount Up
As a Rell player, I’m really excited about her Armored Form passive! Basically, when she’s not mounted, she gets a huge boost to her defenses – 12% Armor and 12% Magic Resist – which makes her super tanky. Plus, she gets a 20% attack speed increase and her attack range jumps to 75, letting her actually hit people more easily when she’s on foot!
- Ferromancy: Crash Down (Active): Leaps off her mount, dealing magic damage and knocking up surrounding enemies. She also gains a shield, which lasts until she remounts. Rell then enters Armored Form, which lets her cast Ferromancy: Mount up.
Mounted Alacrity (Passive): Gains 15 Movement Speed while mounted.
- Ferromancy: Mount Up (Active): Rell mounts up and gains 30% decaying Movement Speed for 2 seconds. Her next attack within 3.5 seconds knocks up enemies and throws them behind her, dealing an additional magic damage. She then enters Mounted Form, which lets her cast Ferromancy: Crash Down.
Skill 3: Full Tilt
Rell dashes forward, giving herself and a nearby ally a 10% boost to Movement Speed. If no ally is specifically targeted, the bonus is applied to the closest one. When near enemy champions, or when engaging with them, this speed boost increases to 25% and lasts for 3 seconds. Rell’s next attack, or her Shattering Strike, will then create an explosion that deals magic damage to enemies based on their maximum Health. This explosion also deals up to 150 damage to monsters and structures.
Ultimate ability: Magnet Storm
This ability unleashes a powerful burst of energy, drawing nearby enemies towards the caster. The effect, called Magnet Storm, continues to pull enemies in for 2 seconds, inflicting significant magic damage throughout its duration.
Skill-up method for Rell
Focus on improving Skill 2 first to move and control things better. After that, upgrade Skill 1 for more damage, and then Skill 3. Whenever you can, unlock and upgrade your ultimate ability.
Best Runes and Spells for Rell in Wild Rift
Rell’s strengths and potential make her a great choice for a roaming support role, as she can quickly move between lanes to help and defend her team.
Best Rune Setup for Rell
Rell’s runes are designed to make her better at starting fights, staying alive, and being generally useful to her team. This setup increases her ability to withstand damage, allowing her to last longer in battles, and gives her multiple options for initiating team fights, even if her Flash ability is unavailable. Here’s the recommended rune build for Rell:

- Glacial Augment: This rune slows enemies when you immobilize them, making your engages stronger and giving your carries an easier time landing hits on enemies.
- Courage of the Colossus: Boosts Kell’s sustain by granting a shield whenever you immobilize an enemy.
- Second Wind: This Rune greatly boosts Kell’s sustain by regenerating her health the more she takes damage.
- Perseverance: Grants extra tenacity, armor, and magic resistance whenever Kell is immobilized on the Rift.
- Hexflash: Hexflash gives you a way to start fights even when Flash is down. You can surprise enemies from bushes or walls, turning losing fights into winning ones.
Battle Spells
The best battle spells for Rell on the Rift include:
- Flash: This spell aids in quick repositioning during teamfights.
- Heal: This spell grants extra Health for you and the most wounded nearby ally champion.
Best Equipment Build for Rell in Wild Rift
Rell excels when she can bravely jump into the middle of a fight, protecting her teammates while remaining durable. Her ideal item choices prioritize increasing her defenses – like Armor and Magic Resist – along with her Health and overall ability to withstand damage. This also gives her the movement speed needed to confidently start team fights. The items listed below will significantly improve Rell’s effectiveness in League of Legends.
- Relic Shield: Ensure to always start with this, as it gives you gold income while roaming, making it safe when you last-hit minions for your ADC.
- Steel-Plated Stoneplate: This item reduces the physical damage received from enemies. It also boosts Kell’s survivability and sustain by granting extra Shield, the higher your defense stats.
- Dead Man’s Plate: Grants extra Movement Speed and bonus damage on hit. The extra speed lets you find faster engages or reposition to peel for your carries
- Amaranth’s Twinguard: This item massively boosts your Armor and Magic Resist during combat.
- Heartsteel: Grants high Health for Kell, while enhancing her attack damage output.
- Thornmail: This is an ideal anti-heal and physical defense item, as it reflects damage to enemies while reducing their lifesteal.
Wild Rift Rell Guide: Gameplay Tips
I’m a huge fan of Rell – she’s a fantastic tank and support champion! What I love about her is how she can really initiate fights, control the battlefield with her abilities, and just generally keep her team safe out on the Rift. I’ve been trying to master her, and I’m putting together a guide breaking down how to play her effectively in the early, mid, and late stages of the game. Hopefully, it’ll help others understand her better too!
Early Game
Okay, so when I’m playing Rell, my go-to strategy is heading to the duo lane to support my ADC. I usually start by using her Skill 2, Crash Down, to knock up anyone who tries to harass us and give myself a shield. Then, I quickly follow up with Shattering Strike to stun them and really lock them down. It’s a great way to peel for my carry and set up plays!
Rell’s ability to become tougher during fights means you can play confidently and take some risks early in the game. Focus on leveling up her third ability to give both yourself and your ADC a speed boost, helping you avoid threats or quickly start a fight.

Your main job is to move between lanes, keeping an eye on the map to help your team and avoid unnecessary fights. Supporting your teammates in team battles is important, and it’s especially helpful to help them get the Rift Herald, which gives your team a significant advantage. Here’s a skill combination that can help you succeed early in the game:
Mid Game
As the game progresses, Rell excels at moving around the map to help her teammates. Use her Full Tilt ability to quickly travel between lanes and offer support. When starting a fight, begin in Mounted state for increased speed and control, then immediately use Crash Down to stun nearby enemies.
Rell is strongest in team fights, thanks to her ability to quickly move around and disrupt enemies. Her ultimate ability, Magnet Storm, significantly increases her power during the middle of the game. Use it right after engaging in a fight to pull several enemies together, making it easier for your team to quickly defeat them. This is especially useful when trying to secure important objectives like Rift Herald or Elder Dragon.
Stick close to your damage-dealing teammates (carries) and protect them from enemy assassins. Use your high health, shield regeneration, and ability to reduce enemy armor to absorb damage and help your team win fights. Maintain good map vision and be prepared to start fights. Here’s a strong ability combination to use with Rell as the game progresses:
Skill 3 → Skill 2 → Skill 1 → Ultimate ability→ Skill 2→ Skill 1
Late Game
Where you are on the battlefield matters a lot when playing Rell. Later in the game, she excels at starting team fights and can quickly throw the enemy team into chaos, giving your team a significant advantage.

As the game goes on, your main job as Rell is to either initiate fights when it benefits your team, or keep them safe from unfavorable ones. With good timing, Rell can really swing team fights in your favor. Let’s take a look at who Rell does well against, what she excels at, and where she struggles.
| Champions that counter Rell | Champions that Rell is strong against |
|---|---|
| Morgana | Nautilus |
| Seraphine | Pyke |
| Zed | Amumu |
