Adam Peaty says fiancée Holly Ramsay gives him ‘balance’ as he opens up about their relationship – after bitter wedding feud erupts with his family

Swimmer Adam Peaty shared that his fiancée, Holly Ramsay, provides him with stability, discussing their relationship following a difficult disagreement with his family that occurred around their wedding plans.

In a recent YouTube documentary series by World Aquatics, the 30-year-old swimmer shared details about his relationship with Tilly Ramsay, Gordon Ramsay’s 25-year-old daughter. The series follows the swimmer’s preparation for the 2025 Swimming World Cup.

Adam explained that when he’s competing – whether it’s in trials or another meet – his partner will be in the audience, but he’ll stay in a separate hotel room to maintain space.

At the start of the season, I decided I wanted her involved because she helps me maintain a good work-life balance, and it also meant we wouldn’t be apart for long periods.

‘And as someone going through their fourth Olympics, you need balance.’ 

Elsewhere in the episode, Holly gave further insight into how the pair met.

You know, when Adam and I first connected, it wasn’t at a pool! He’d actually finished competing after the Olympics and was mentally retired. He was completely done with swimming at that point, which a lot of people don’t realize!

‘So he took from the Olympics to January off and got back in the water this January.’

In the video, Adam didn’t talk about his own family, but Holly did share details about the Ramsay family. That includes Gordon and Tana Ramsay, and their children: Megan (27), Jack (25), Matilda (23), Oscar (6), and Jesse (2).

Growing up with five siblings was always lively and a little crazy, kind of like life on tour! And being around a swimmer definitely comes with its own unique challenges and funny habits.

I always need to keep snacks with me because my son gets really irritable when he’s hungry. So, even when we’re going out – even to dinner – I make sure to bring something for him to munch on.

She thought about Adam’s personality, explaining that he sometimes needs to be alone. She pointed out that being on tour for three weeks, cooped up in a hotel room, can feel quite confining.

The video was released amid accusations that the couple ‘body shamed’ his mother. His family claims she wasn’t invited to their wedding because of her appearance, and that they felt she didn’t fit their desired image.

Currently, only one family member is expected to attend, as a long-standing disagreement continues between the two families.

Caroline recently spoke to the Daily Mail about the growing conflict between her family and her future in-laws.

She told us: ‘I know it’s the end.

I really want Adam to know that no matter what happens, I love him very much, and so does his dad. He’s always welcome to come home and talk to me about anything, anytime.

‘There’s nothing you’ve done that I would not forgive. I love you so much.

I truly wish you and Holly a lifetime of happiness together, just like my dad and I had. I’m sharing this because I want everything to be resolved and move forward.

Caroline recognizes how much her son’s life has changed, and her family is very worried about the Ramsay family’s power and control.

Caroline said he was under Gordon’s control. She felt like they were separating him from her, and that Gordon’s family was very private and kept to themselves.
