Optimizations coming with the Wuthering Waves Version 2.8 update
The WuWa 2.8 update includes more than just new content – it also has several improvements designed to make playing the game even better. Here are some of the highlights:
Performance Optimizations
After updating to version 2.8, ray tracing will put less strain on your graphics card, leading to better performance while still looking great.
We’re improving the lighting in some scenes to make them more realistic and visually stunning. We’re also adding a feature called Distance Field Ambient Occlusion for PC users, which will create more natural and detailed lighting effects.
Echo Absorption
After the Version 2.8 update, you’ll be able to collect all nearby Echoes with a single click. We’re also adding a “Main Echo” slot to the Echo suggestions menu, making it easier to manage your Echoes.
Upgrade Materials Management
I’m so excited about the new “Auto Supplement” feature coming to Resonator, Weapon, and Skill Ascension! Basically, if I don’t have enough upgrade materials, I can just hit this button and it’ll take me to a screen showing exactly what I’m missing. From there, I can use things like Synthesis, Conversion, or Supply Packs to get what I need. And the really cool part is, if I’m short on higher-rarity materials, it’ll automatically look for lower-rarity ones and even use my Supply Packs to fill everything out – it’ll keep going until I have everything required! This is going to save me so much time and hassle.
Better Combat Experience
We’re updating the Guidebook to make it more helpful. The tabs will be rearranged so you can quickly find information on Recurring Challenges and the best places to gather materials. We’re also adding more details to the Recurring Challenges section, like how much time is left and your progress, to make them easier to manage. When you start a “Tactical Hologram: Phantom Pain” challenge again, your Resonators will now have full stamina. Finally, we’re improving the Boss Challenges experience – after finishing or leaving a challenge, you’ll see a “Restart” button instead of a “Cancel” button.
Auto Mute
We’re adding a new setting for Windows PC players: “Mute when Game is in the Background.” When turned on, this will automatically silence the game if you switch to other applications or minimize it.
Although it’s a short list, the recent system changes will affect how you play, so it’s worth checking out.
Havoc Bane
Certain Havoc attacks can inflict a debuff called Havoc Bane on enemies. While Havoc Bane is active, the enemy’s defense is lowered. This debuff can stack up to three times, and each stack reduces the enemy’s defense by 2%.
Fusion Burst
Certain Fusion attacks can apply a ‘Fusion Burst’ effect, which builds up with each application. Once ‘Fusion Burst’ reaches its maximum of 10 stacks, all stacks are removed, causing an explosion that deals Fusion damage to nearby enemies. The more stacks accumulated, the greater the damage from the explosion.
Glacio Chafe
Okay, so in this game, some of my Glacio attacks can cause this ‘Glacio Chafe’ effect on enemies. It’s like a debuff that stacks – the more times I apply it, the more Glacio damage they take. It can stack up to 10 times, and each stack also slows them down. If I get all 10 stacks on an enemy, they’ll get completely frozen! But getting unfrozen isn’t easy – it takes a lot of effort to recover.
Electro Flare
Certain Electro attacks can apply an effect called Electro Flare to enemies. This effect repeatedly deals Electro damage over time. Each time the enemy is hit, they lose half of their Electro Flare stacks. Electro Flare can stack up to 10 times, increasing the damage dealt with each stack. Once at maximum stacks, adding more stacks creates Electro Rage. Electro Rage boosts the damage of the next Electro Flare burst, but disappears immediately after being used. Like Electro Flare, Electro Rage can stack up to 10 times, further increasing the damage of Electro Flare.
New Contents
There will be three new contents in the 2.8 update. Here’s an overview of them:
- Stranger Things in Honami: After the end of Honami’s City looping crisis, Namipon from Shashou Cafe contacts you to request your and Chisa’s help in investigating a series of strange occurrences throughout Honami City. Assist Namipon with the investigation while also gathering supplies to renovate Shashou Cafe.
- Tactical Simulacra: Off Tune: With your help, the Tactical Simulacra has achieved initial success. The Academy has managed to measure the Tunability of Tacet Discord frequencies. Disrupting their Tunability would mean a lethal blow to them…
- Lollo Campaign: Rising Anew: Maji, the idea king, is back with yet another new campaign. This time, he’s riding the tech wave and trying to create his very own smart assistant, Lollo Genie. Interact with adorable Echoes and submit their behavioural data to Maji to collect Lollo Stamps and participate in the thrilling lottery!
New Regions
Chronorift Metropolis

Okay, so I’m looking at this city, and it’s totally wrecked, like a perfect moment preserved in stone, but a really sad one. It’s like everything just… stopped. The streets are covered in weeds, and the lower parts are flooded. There’s this constant, echoing sound – they call it the Lament – and everything feels broken and out of sync. But this particular spot? It’s like time itself just gave up and froze, creating this eerily silent, eternal snapshot.
New Outfit
- Zani Deluxe Outfit: Downtown Repose
That is all from the Wuthering Waves version 2.8 update coming soon.
