Stick
I was really excited for Apple TV+’s Stick when it came out in June 2025, and honestly, it mostly lived up to the buzz! It’s getting a solid 82% on Rotten Tomatoes, which is great. It’s a fun sports comedy, but with that newer Apple TV+ style – kind of like Ted Lasso and Shrinking. It’s a really enjoyable show to watch all at once, though it might not be exactly what you’re expecting going in.
In the movie Stick, Owen Wilson plays Pryce Chaill, a once-promising golfer whose life falls apart after a very public struggle and a personal loss. He finds a renewed sense of purpose when he meets Santi Wheeler, a talented young golfer who needs help to reach his full potential.
The show Stick also stars Timothy Olyphant, Marc Maron, and Judy Greer. If you’re hoping to watch a relaxed and fun sports program on Apple TV this weekend, Stick is a great choice.
Drops of God
The Apple TV drama series Drops of God has received high praise from critics, but hasn’t yet reached a wide audience. Originally released in April 2023 and boasting a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes, this French psychological thriller will return for its second season on January 21, 2026.
The Apple TV+ series, Drops of God, centers around Camille, a woman living in Paris who inherits a valuable wine collection after her father’s passing. To receive the inheritance, she must compete against Issei, a talented winemaker her father mentored. The first season, with eight episodes, is a captivating and immersive drama perfect for a weekend binge.
Masters of the Air
If you’re looking for a way to recognize Veterans Day this weekend, Apple TV+ has the series Masters of the Air available to watch. As a follow-up to the acclaimed Band of Brothers and The Pacific, Masters of the Air was a highly anticipated original series and has received a good rating of 85% on Rotten Tomatoes.
This new WWII series, which debuted in early 2024, is a visually impressive story set in 1943. It follows American airmen flying dangerous bombing missions over Germany from their base in England. The show features a strong cast, including Austin Butler, Barry Keoghan, Callum Turner, and Anthony Boyle, and is known for its ensemble performances.
While Masters of the Air might not be quite as impactful as Band of Brothers – and very few war series reach that height – it’s still a compelling show, ideal for a weekend watch on Apple TV.
