Brittany Cartwright breaks silence on fling with MARRIED man amid bitter divorce from Jax Taylor

Brittany Cartwright has announced she’s open to dating again following her difficult split from Jax Taylor.

During a panel at BravoCon 2025 in Las Vegas on Friday, 36-year-old Cartwright jokingly asked someone to find her a date, revealing that she is currently single.

She recently addressed rumors about a relationship with Brandon Hanson, explaining that she did not date him while he was married.

Cartwright stated that Hanson and his wife were already living apart when their romantic relationship began.

It felt very fleeting. It gained popularity online much faster than expected, and looking back, I wouldn’t have shared it publicly. He and I were both separated, not married, and I definitely wasn’t trying to break up a marriage.

Cartwright said she’s looking for a partner who will love and care for her four-year-old son, Cruz, who she shares with Taylor.

Cartwright said his priority is finding someone who values family and would eventually get along with his son, Cruz. He first became well-known on Vanderpump Rules, and now stars alongside Taylor on The Valley.

She revealed she and Hanson had broken up in mid-October, just two months after they first publicly confirmed their relationship with a romantic trip to Mexico.

You know, my relationship actually started as a really solid friendship, which is always a great foundation. Then things moved fast – it was a total whirlwind! Honestly, we weren’t prepared for how quickly it became public. We definitely didn’t anticipate that level of attention so soon, but it just kind of happened, as these things do. I was talking about it on my podcast, ‘When Reality Hits with Brittany Cartwright,’ and it’s something I’ve definitely been reflecting on.

She explained that despite still caring for each other, the relationship couldn’t work. While the split was friendly, the distance – they lived three hours apart – proved too difficult, especially with his commitments to his three children and multiple jobs.

Shortly after having cosmetic surgery – a tummy tuck and breast reduction, often called a ‘mommy makeover’ – Cartwright announced her split.

She revealed on her podcast that Taylor’s hurtful comments about her appearance during their relationship – including a remark that she ‘looked like a tree trunk’ – contributed to her decision to get plastic surgery.

Cartwright shared that her previous relationship had severely damaged her self-esteem, leaving her feeling insecure and determined to rebuild her confidence.

As a lifestyle observer, I’ve seen firsthand how reality TV can lay bare even the most private struggles. On my show, viewers witnessed the really difficult breakdown of my marriage to Taylor. It wasn’t easy watching, especially knowing he was battling addiction and anger – he’s since been open about his past cocaine use and is now committed to staying sober. It was a tough time, and sharing it publicly was even harder.

Cartwright claims he was violent towards her, alleging he once threw a coffee table during an argument and hit her knee, causing it to bruise instantly.

She also alleged that he once pushed her into some rose bushes during an argument, but he denied it. She responded by saying the incident was caught on her doorbell camera, and that several friends who were visiting at the time had witnessed the footage.

Taylor announced he was leaving The Valley in July, explaining he wanted to prioritize his recovery, mental well-being, and relationship with his child’s other parent.

They began dating in 2015 and got married in 2019. However, in February 2024, she announced on their podcast that they had split up.
