Irina Shayk, FKA Twigs, and Gwendoline Christie all posed nude for the highly anticipated 2026 Pirelli calendar, resulting in a striking photoshoot.

Thirty-nine-year-old model Irina looked stunning, gracefully covered by a sheer, flowing pink fabric.

The model looked amazing as she posed for photographer Sølve Sundsbø, who used a wind machine to create particularly striking photos.

Okay, let’s talk about body confidence! I was really struck by a recent photo of FKA Twigs – the artist Tahliah Debrett Barnett – where she confidently showcased her incredible physique. She posed in a sandpit, really highlighting her toned muscles and a glimpse of sideboob. It was a powerful statement about owning your body and celebrating strength, and honestly, it was inspiring to see!

Gwendoline, the actress known for Game of Thrones, chose a soft and radiant look, showcasing a beautiful, brightly lit close-up photo.

This year’s event will feature tennis star Venus Williams, 45, alongside actresses Tilda Swinton, 65, and Isabella Rossellini, 73, plus 90s model Eva Herzigová, who is 52.

Celebrating its 52nd year, the newest edition of the calendar was photographed in Norfolk and New York City. This year’s models represent the natural elements – earth, air, fire, and water – and also more abstract concepts like energy, light, and the intangible ‘ether’.

Photographer Sølve Sundsbø explained that his calendar project moved beyond simply representing the classic elements of earth, air, fire, and water. He aimed to capture deeper feelings, natural impulses, and the inner states of being that are fundamental to the human experience.

It’s a longing for freedom, a natural curiosity, and a deep desire to understand the world around us – that sense of wonder and imagination. It’s about feeling connected to nature, and to our past, while also striving for something more. It’s a big undertaking, but I wanted to explore these ideas.

He explained that he aimed to photograph older women who possessed a sense of life experience and inner strength—women he greatly admired. He’d been hoping to work with some of them for a long time, while others were subjects he’d photographed before and wanted to revisit with a new perspective.

Sølve is an accomplished photographer who has contributed to leading fashion magazines and collaborated with renowned brands like Prada, Mugler, and Gucci.

Last year’s calendar was shot by shot by New York-based photographer Ethan James Green.

The campaign showcased a diverse group of stars, including model Hunter Schafer, actor Vincent Cassel (known for ‘La Haine’), Simone Ashley from ‘Bridgerton’, Jodie Turner-Smith (‘The Neon Demon’), South Korean model Hoeyon Jung, Italian singer Elodie Di Patrizi, models Connie Fleming and Jenny Shimizu, and visual artist Martine Gutierrez.

Pirelli explained that the photographer aimed to highlight the unique qualities of the people featured in the 2025 calendar.

As a long-time admirer, I’ve always been fascinated by the Pirelli calendar. It’s been a tradition for Pirelli UK to create it every year since 1964, but it’s never actually sold in stores. Instead, it’s a really special gift they give to celebrities and their most valued customers – a truly exclusive piece of art and photography.

In 1987, Naomi Campbell featured on the calendar at just 16.

The campaign has also featured photos of many other notable figures, including Patti Smith, Serena Williams, Yoko Ono, Grimes, Alicia Vikander, St. Vincent, Cara Delevingne, Emma Watson, Whoopi Goldberg, Nicole Kidman, and Iggy Pop.

The Italian tyre company first hinted at a shift in strategy with its 2017 calendars, promising a fresh, feminist take on the traditionally popular publication and a break from past approaches.

A magazine spread showcasing Robin Wright, Julianne Moore, Charlotte Rampling, and Helen Mirren – who were 50, 55, 70, and 71 years old at the time – was praised for its positive portrayal of women as they age.

The Pirelli calendar used to be famous for featuring glamorous, often revealing, photos of women.

As a lifestyle expert, I was so excited to see the 2020 calendar that reimagined Shakespeare’s Juliet! It featured some incredible A-list actresses – Emma Watson, Kristen Stewart, and Claire Foy, to name a few – each portraying the iconic character while fully clothed. They embraced everything from casual denim jackets to stunning period costumes, offering a fresh and modern take on a classic role.

Oh my gosh, you guys, the new Pirelli calendar is HERE, and it’s stunning! Paolo Roversi shot it, and everyone’s calling it the most progressive one ever. Seriously, it’s like, a total moment – they’re really making a statement with this year’s theme, and I’m absolutely living for it! It’s not just beautiful, it’s meaningful.

The annual calendar wasn’t released in 2021 because of the Covid-19 pandemic. This was the first time it hadn’t been published since 1964.

Last year, Prince Gyasi made history as the first Black photographer to create images for the Pirelli Calendar, marking the calendar’s 60th year.

Thanks to the work of a Ghanaian artist, David Beckham’s calendar returned after a four-year break, last appearing in 2018. The calendar also includes photos of actor Idris Elba and retired soccer player Marcel Desailly.
