He is the favourite to win this year’s I’m A Celebrity.
As someone who keeps a close eye on what makes people tick online, I’ve been following Morgan Burtwistle – you probably know him as AngryGinge – and he’s recently opened up about the challenges of transitioning to mainstream TV. He’s admitted he’s feeling the pressure to consistently deliver entertaining content for ITV viewers, and honestly, it’s something a lot of creators can relate to. He’s even shared that he worries about feeling like he doesn’t quite belong – that classic imposter syndrome. It’s a good reminder that even those who seem effortlessly funny and confident are human, and navigating new platforms always comes with its own set of anxieties.
The 25-year-old contestant, who is good friends with rapper Aitch, said he’d seen people online speculating about them both, even while traveling to the show. He admitted this adds a bit of pressure, as he always wants to put on a good performance.
I want to ensure the show is entertaining for viewers, no matter what happens on set, so there’s definitely some pressure to deliver.
I’m mostly worried about meeting my castmates, as I’ve never considered myself famous.
Honestly, it’s always a bit nerve-wracking for me when I finally get to meet celebrities in person. I mean, I’ve watched them on TV my whole life, so it’s surreal to be face-to-face with someone you’ve admired from afar.

‘I’ve got a feeling I might get a little bit of imposter syndrome.’
The internet celebrity, originally from Salford and a friend of darts player Luke Littler, revealed he’d received guidance from last year’s runner-up, Coleen Rooney, about how to thrive on the show.
Morgan is a big Manchester United supporter and is married to Wayne, the former captain of the England national football team. There had been talk of Wayne also appearing on the show.
He told me Wayne was really excited when I said I was interested. Wayne is looking forward to it and even said he’d vote for me to participate in the trials, so I know I have their support to give it a shot.
I recently chatted with Coleen, and she gave me some really helpful advice for navigating everything. She shared a few insider tips and tricks that I’m excited to put into practice – it’s always good to learn from someone who’s been there!
The 39-year-old contestant, who finished second to Danny Jones from the band McFly, advised the social media personality to cut back on caffeine a month prior to the show. She also suggested he empty his water bottle during challenges so producers could refill it with water, as the water available in camp tasted ‘smokey’.
Morgan has earned around £1 million by livestreaming on Twitch from his bedroom. He chats about football and current events to his five million social media followers.
He explained that he’s glad to take a break from using his voice for a couple of weeks. He usually streams for six to nine hours at a time, which requires a lot of continuous talking.

ITV hired Morgan hoping to appeal to younger viewers, similar to how they successfully brought in Gen Z with GK Barry last year, who is now a host on Loose Women.
When asked about potentially following the path of the 24-year-old, he didn’t dismiss the idea of working in mainstream media. However, he emphasized his commitment to his roots, stating, “I’ll always stay true to where I came from.”
No matter what happens in the future, I’ll always remember my roots and remain dedicated to Twitch.
It comes after his friend Aitch, 25, whose real name is Harrison Arm
Morgan simply wants to show people from older generations that he’s not the troublemaker he’s often portrayed as on social media.

He explained that people who don’t regularly watch his streams often only see short clips online, which can give the wrong impression. He hopes that by watching this longer video, they’ll get a better understanding of his personality and see beyond those quick, potentially misleading clips.
Morgan has shared that he was raised by his mother and sister in a single-parent home, where they lived on a limited income of around £12,500 a year. He moved out at 17 to help ease the financial burden on his mother.
And he revealed he ‘rarely’ goes on holiday.
He mentioned he hadn’t taken a real vacation since 2018, when he attended his uncle’s wedding. Recently, his only travel was a charity football match in Qatar, and he filmed a video in Monaco last year.
