A Sydney businesswoman is turning heads in the city’s affluent eastern suburbs with her seemingly lavish lifestyle, despite her company recently going bankrupt. It appears she’s enjoying a constant stream of luxurious brunches and celebrations.
According to a public notice, Sanja Maria’s business, Sanja Maria Aesthetics Pty Ltd (formerly known as Face and Body by SM), closed down voluntarily on July 2nd of last year. Trent Devine was appointed to handle the company’s closure.
The record makes for grim reading, but Sanja’s online presence tells a different story.
Up until recently, the 40-year-old nurse who specializes in cosmetic procedures appeared to be thriving, based on what she shared on social media.
People in Sydney’s social circles were sharing screenshots from her Instagram page, which she had recently deleted.
She apparently traveled to Italy for a friend’s wedding and celebrated ‘new beginnings’ while enjoying the sunshine on the Amalfi Coast.

Sarah Rogan, the owner of laser clinics in Double Bay, Cairns, and New Zealand, is widely recognized for her high-profile legal battle with Richard White, the billionaire founder of WiseTech.
She stated that White had promised her a $13.1 million home in Vaucluse, but he retracted the offer after his wife, a criminal lawyer named Zena Nasser, found out about their relationship.
The main issue in the disagreement was a $92,000 invoice for high-end furniture. Rogan said she bought it because White told her to, expecting they would be moving into a new home together.
The matter was eventually settled.
Sanja was among several prominent women who stood by Rogan through it all.
Despite her powerful connections, people are curious about how she maintains such a luxurious lifestyle given her recent business difficulties.
According to a source, Sanja celebrated her 40th birthday with a lavish party at the popular Tanuki restaurant in Double Bay, and the celebration went on late into the night.
Recently, Sanja reportedly enjoyed a luxurious getaway, staying at The Calile Hotel in Brisbane – where rooms cost over $700 per night – and dining at a high-end steak and oyster restaurant.
Sanja seems to have moved on from any difficulties she faced before her company failed.
The ‘Face + Body by SM’ clinic in Mosman has closed down for good, according to Google. However, a separate ‘Face by SM’ clinic is still open and operating on Oxford Street in Paddington.
Sanja Murray, who also goes by Sanja Novosel and performs cosmetic injections, still has an active business registration.
Her experience isn’t unique. More and more successful businesswomen in the eastern suburbs are overcoming significant challenges and achieving success.

How Sanja bounced back is unclear, but a source says ‘people are definitely talking’.

With over 15 years as a registered nurse specializing in non-surgical rejuvenation, she was a frequent contributor and expert source for leading industry publications like SPA+CLINIC and Professional Beauty.
Sanja and Face by SM haven’t publicly responded to the news of their 2024 liquidation, as documented in a notice from ASIC (available here). We reached out to the clinic this week but haven’t received a response.
