David Harbour didn’t attend the London premiere of Stranger Things season five on Thursday, while all the other main cast members were present.
This follows reports that the actor, age 50, and his co-star, 21-year-old Millie Bobby Brown, drew attention at the Los Angeles premiere. They playfully acted out a comedic duo for the photographers, shortly after Brown publicly accused him of bullying.
While some think David has been avoiding public appearances following Lily Allen’s new album about his affair, he may have simply been unable to attend the premiere because he was filming the thriller Evil Genius in New Jersey on Tuesday.
David was spotted on the movie set Tuesday looking completely different with gray hair and a beard. Courteney Cox is directing the film, and cameras were rolling as he filmed his scenes.
Two days later, Millie, Sadie Sink, Noah Schnapp, Gaten Matarazzo, and Finn Wolfhard—Millie’s co-stars from Stranger Things—all posed for photos together on the red carpet, which led fans to wonder where the 50-year-old actor was.
Daily Mail have contacted David and Netflix’s representatives for comment.
Just a week before, the Emmy-nominated actor attended the Los Angeles premiere with Millie, appearing to have resolved their differences publicly. This followed reports that Millie had filmed a claim about harassment and bullying.
Importantly, the complaints didn’t involve any claims of sexual misconduct, and we haven’t yet learned the results of the investigation.
Millie and David appeared very friendly and playful in photos taken in LA, laughing and posing for the camera.
According to body language expert Judi James, red carpet events rarely show people being completely genuine. She told the Daily Mail that Millie and David’s behavior seemed excessively performative, like they were trying too hard.
She pointed out that the photos appear to show the two people playfully posing together, almost like a comedic duo.
As he spoke with dramatic flair, she lifted her hand to meet his gaze, subtly mirroring his words and showing she was thoughtfully considering what he said.
Then, they launched into a comical routine, striking matching poses as they looked up and pointed, seemingly sharing a joke and enjoying it together. It was a visual gag they both understood and found funny.
Earlier this month, the Daily Mail revealed that the British actress submitted extensive accusations against David before the final season of the sci-fi series started filming.
