- Project R.I.S.E has announced the cancellation of its November test titled “Barely Beta”.
- The decision comes after internal tests which revealed major gameplay experience issues.
Hey Guardians, just a heads-up if you were hyped for the Project R.I.S.E. beta – it’s been cancelled. The team announced they’re calling off the “Barely Beta” test that was supposed to happen on November 25, 2025, and they were pretty upfront about the reasons why.
Developers say the current Project R.I.S.E build is not at a level they feel proud sharing
So, the devs just posted on Discord, and basically, they’ve done some internal playtesting and decided the game isn’t ready for even a beta release. They said they’re usually okay with a few glitches and rough edges, but this build just wasn’t up to their standards. They decided it was better to hold off and keep working on it rather than let us play something unfinished.

So, the team told me this isn’t just a small setback – it’s a much bigger deal than a few simple bugs. They said it’s not something they can just quickly fix with a patch or two. It sounds like core parts of the game experience need a complete overhaul, a proper rebuild from the ground up, which is a little disappointing, but honestly, I’d rather they get it right than rush a temporary fix.
The team is pausing external development to concentrate on improving their internal tools and systems. This means they won’t be releasing any playable versions of the project this year, but it will allow them to move towards a beta test and wider launch in the future.
This new update follows the Alpha Test from January, which happened several months ago. While many were looking forward to the Barely Beta after a ten-month wait, it’s good to know the developers want to deliver an experience they’re confident in.
Supercell’s newer games are facing challenges. Squad Busters was recently discontinued, and while mo.co is still in development, there are concerns it might also be canceled like Squad Busters. Now, it looks like Project R.I.S.E. is also falling behind schedule.
It’s good to see the team is focusing on building a solid base rather than trying to release something quickly. I’ll share more information as it becomes available.
