Nick Fury’s New Look Revealed by Marvel

Marvel is giving fans a first look at what’s coming in its comics. After a quiet period, the company recently shared an updated design for Nick Fury Jr., hinting at significant changes for the character’s future storylines.

Shield returns in new Captain America comic with Nick Fury

I’m excited to report some big news from Lucca Comics & Games! Marvel’s C.B. Cebulski and writer Chip Zdarsky just announced that S.H.I.E.L.D. is making a comeback. It sounds like we’ll be seeing more of the organization in future Marvel stories, which is fantastic news for fans like me.

The latest issue of Captain America, #6, will feature a revamped version of a familiar organization. This storyline kicks off in January as part of the ‘Road to Armageddon’ event. Chip Zdarsky is writing the arc, with artwork by Delio Diaz and Frank Alpizar. Valerio Schiti created the cover art.

According to Cebulski, discussions about reforming S.H.I.E.L.D. have been a constant topic at Marvel’s creative meetings for nearly a decade. He also mentioned that bringing the group back coincides with its 60th anniversary.

According to Zdarsky, the team immediately began working on the new S.H.I.E.L.D. initiative, which had a clearly defined purpose and scale. Marvel has confirmed the storyline picks up after the ‘One World Under Doom’ event, with Steve Rogers traveling to Latveria to deal with a returning danger, all while other groups arrive on the scene.

I’m really excited about the new direction Marvel is taking with Nick Fury Jr.! They’re building a smaller, more covert team around him, and the roster looks fantastic. We’re going to see Joe Ramos, Charles Castlemore, Trevor Tambling, and even Red Widow working alongside him. It’s a fresh take on the classic team dynamic, and I can’t wait to see what they do!

The team will be tracking down weapons belonging to Doctor Doom, which might lead to a confrontation with Captain America. Additionally, new artwork of Nick Fury has been revealed, showcasing a suit with blue highlights, a black vest, boots with blue lining, and distinctive glasses – one lens is completely blacked out.

Marvel announced that this marks the first time S.H.I.E.L.D. has officially been seen since the ‘Secret Empire’ comic event in 2017. The organization had previously fallen apart due to a takeover by Hydra. Recent comics have focused on Nick Fury operating on his own, dealing with issues like the Infinity Stones, Skrull activity, and secret missions alongside Maria Hill.

Marvel confirmed that Captain America #6 goes on sale January 21.
