Tom Felton Suits Up to Protect the World in Exclusive Clip From Upcoming Sci-Fi Altered

Honestly, it’s such a great time to be a Tom Felton fan! He’s always been so connected to the Wizarding World, and it’s amazing to see him back as Draco Malfoy. But beyond that, he’s got a ton of exciting stuff coming up, including this cool-sounding sci-fi movie called Altered. I’m really looking forward to seeing what he does with it!

This short video introduces viewers to a world where people are genetically enhanced. It follows a group of high school students on a tour, where a guide explains how these enhancements work for newborns. However, some individuals are born without these improvements and are known as “Specials.”

During the tour, Tom Felton’s character, Leon, attempts to enter a lab while using a wheelchair. He tries to be discreet, but quickly realizes he has the incorrect access code. Fortunately, someone within the group cleverly manages to obtain the correct code before they are caught.

In a present-day world where genetic enhancements are common, those who can’t afford them are forced to live in hiding. A small group of determined individuals rises up to fight for equality, but they soon discover that change always comes at a price.

In the new sci-fi thriller distributed by Well Go USA, actor Felton stars as Leon, a design engineer with a disability who is one of the few people not genetically modified. When the world needs saving, his character creates a unique suit to battle the forces of evil.

Timo Vuorensola, the writer and director, is behind the new sci-fi film, Altered. The cast includes Elizabeth Bugulova, Richard Brake, Igor Jijikine, Aggy K. Adams, and, notably, a popular actor from the Harry Potter series.

Director Timo Vuorensola shared that he’s always loved science fiction, particularly when it offers new ways of looking at our current world. He saw ‘Altered’ as a chance to examine important social topics within a near-future setting, creating a story that’s both thrilling and emotionally resonant.

The director also spoke highly of Felton, saying he’s been a fan of Tom’s acting since his time in Harry Potter, but his recent performances really showed his range and skill. The director felt Felton possessed all the qualities needed for the lead role – a good sense of humor, strength, vulnerability, and charm. He also added that Felton was a joy to work with, which was especially important given the challenging nature of the production, and that they connected well from the start.

Tom Felton Is in High Demand

Tom Felton first became known for playing Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter movies, and he’s consistently shown his affection for the Wizarding World ever since. He’s frequently participated in events like new theme park openings and fan surprises to expand that world, but he recently had the chance to play Draco Malfoy again – this time on stage. On November 11th, when he appeared, he received a 30-second standing ovation.

In addition to his roles in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and the forthcoming Altered, he will appear in a new film that playfully imitates shows like The Gilded Age. The movie also stars Thomasin McKenzie, Ben Radcliffe, Katherine Waterston, Emma Laird, Tom Goodman-Hill, Ramon Tikaram, Tim Mcmullan, Anna Maxwell Martin, Sue Johnston, and Damian Lewis.

Altered debuts in theaters and on digital on Nov. 21.
