Lord Sugar gets grilled by pint-sized tycoons and for once, he’s the one in the hot seat.
Oh my gosh, you will NOT believe what happened! Lord Sugar, the absolute legend, was totally grilled by these incredible young entrepreneurs on The Apprentice! They weren’t scared to ask anything – seriously, anything! They wanted to know about his famous temper, how much money he actually has, which football team he supports, what his plans are for his fortune, and even if he has any regrets at work. It was amazing to watch them holding him accountable – they were fearless!
Instead of his usual stern expression, the wealthy businessman surprisingly smiled, suggesting he may be becoming more gentle as he gets older.
This event was held to support a great cause: Children in Need. The broadcast returns Friday night, featuring Lenny Rush and Pudsey, and will highlight children’s stories across the BBC’s most popular programs.
As a lifestyle expert, I always find the entrance into the Apprentice boardroom fascinating! In a recent clip from the Daily Mail, you see the candidates walking in, looking incredibly polished and professional in their best business attire, ready to face Lord Sugar, Karren Brady, and Tim Campbell. It really sets the stage for the intense competition ahead!
Most grown-ups would probably be intimidated by that direct question, but one brave kid asks, ‘If you’re named Sugar, why are you so grumpy?’

Lord Sugar immediately demanded to know who was first when he called everyone into the boardroom, saying, ‘Right, listen up, I haven’t got much time, who’s going to start?’
A confident young person involved with the Haringey Shed, a theatre group for all abilities, playfully asked Lord Sugar, ‘Why are you called Lord Sugar when you seem so grumpy?’
Lord Sugar, usually stern, actually smiled. He simply stated, ‘I’m Sugar, and that’s all there is to it.’
Lord Sugar’s assistant, Karren Brady, playfully pointed out he wasn’t always grumpy, and he chuckled in agreement.
Karren and Tim, the original winner of The Apprentice, couldn’t stop laughing as the kids peppered them with questions.
Lord Sugar shared a lighthearted comment about the Children in Need sketch, saying he’d agreed to be interviewed by children as a one-time thing. He joked that he was doing it to help Pudsey and admitted he might be getting a little softer, but was curious to see how the interview would go.
You can see the whole thing this Friday on BBC One and iPlayer as part of Children in Need, beginning at 7pm.
Viewers won’t have to wait much longer to see the business leader back on TV. He’s returning for another season of Celebrity Apprentice, where he’ll be challenging a new group of famous faces.

This Christmas, a special two-part episode of Children in Need will celebrate 20 years of The Apprentice with a competition featuring well-known celebrities. Stars like TV’s Rob Rinder, EastEnders actor Jake Wood, JLS singer JB Gill, Big Brother host AJ Odudu, and comedian Shazia Mirza will be competing to win money for their favorite charities.
The cast also includes comedian Eddie Kadi, fitness personality Matt Morsia (known as the Gladiator), Paralympic champion Kadeena Cox, DJ Charlie Hedges, and former Strictly Come Dancing contestants Sarah Hadland and Angela Scanlon.
Tom Skinner, who was the first contestant voted off of this season’s Strictly Come Dancing, is back on the show. He first appeared on the program in 2019.
Despite making a strong impression on Lord Sugar with his positive attitude and personality, the bed salesman wasn’t a finalist. The £250,000 investment was ultimately given to Carina Lepore, who owned a bakery.
The next season of The Apprentice, featuring everyday people, will begin in the New Year. Lord Sugar will once again invest a substantial amount of money in the winning candidate’s business.
